Scarabgator on Suicide Watch

Anyone live close to thjis nutjob? I am sure he is three sheets to the wind right now trying to cure major depression.

Urban Meyer has stepped down as Florida coach. Hmmm, why? let's break this down.

He says he wants to spend time with family. Um, what? You get to spend 7-8 months with them now, as your job is only 3-4 months long. Hmm. Couldn't possibly be because you have done something "wrong" at UF is it? Seriously, it isn't so far fetched. Think about it. if you are going to cheat, what better place to do it than in the SEC  , you know, that hotbed of scolastic integrity...or the state of Florida for that matter. All three of the major universities in that state aren't exactly "fit and tidy." They all have been known to "cheat." I wouldn't be surprised if Meyer is pulling a Pete Carroll.

Poor Gator- dude has got to be gripping hard right about now. this is one BIG step backwards for that all of a sudden very mediocre program. I also find it ironic that 83 yr old JoeGrandpa is going to face Florida next month in the Outback Bowl.

Natalie, Babyblue, any of you other dumb Southern folk get on the horn and call your boy....I am concerned for him.

Fuck you RobbieG.

You know, somehow I didn't even think of your love for Favre when I made that post.

But anyway, Favre is a douchebag.

I can see Jim Harbaugh going there...his offense would fit in there perfectly....that is, if Michigan doesn't get him first.

Not only that, but it looks like your boy Tim Tebow is in MAD trouble right now since McDaniels was ousted in Denver. Tebow's starting QB chances are now in serious jeopardy now that the head coach that made the worst first round pick ever on him has been shown the door and with Kyle Orton having a heck of a year throwing the ball down field. Tebow will fall in the same draft busts of Brady Quin and Joey Harrington. Talk about rubbing salt in the wound of Florida Gator fans, jeez. :x

Not really. The truth of the matter is that there isn't a person outside of Florida not named Josh McDaniels who thought Tebow was an NFL QB. Being a great college QB means absolutely nothing. The reality is that about 2% of college players are good enough to play at the pro level, so it really shouldn't shock anyone when a guy simply can't cut it.

True, but wheres the media attention on the discipline hes given to those students? I'm sorry, but this is a depressing day for Gatorland, however it is a new beginning for someone who wants to be here, who wants to represent the GatorNation. Im all about Milwaukees Best right now with a few shots of Goose.

He Hopes nothing hes been done wrong at Florida. That place along with all but one of it's SEC brothers are as corrupt as they come. Screw the SEC.

Something is coming out of this Gator. You don't have a successful 46 yr old coach walk away before a bowl game calling it quits, and citing "family time." What a croc of shit. Meyer left the safety of Utah where no one cares what happens, to the lights of UF, where cheating isn't assumed, it's expected.

Now would be a great time for Urban to throw Auburn's QB under the bus. Come out and say the reason the guy transferred was because "He's a cheating, laptop stealing son of a bitch".

Um, dude, two things. 1) Meyer is coaching the Bowl game, and 2) Penn State is very average at best. My guess is they will get ran over by Florida and all it's cheating, thieving ex convict athletes. Those fuckers from down there in Miami can outrun a police bullet, let alone a police radio. You guys iat Penn State are too white and slow. No question Florida uses Meyers departure for inspiration and they roll over Grandpa, big. After that however, into the toilet goes Florida. Flush those bastards down the shitter!

You're from Idaho. Might as well be.

That state really offers nothing to the country if you think about it. Sure, it hosts I-90 and I-84, along with the Union Pacific mainline, but other than that, I can't see what it really contributes to the USA. KKK camps up in Sandpoint? I know good ol Mark Furman and his family live in Idaho, so that's a good thing too I suppose. It does have Coeur d'Alene, which is a nice spot. Oh and you do have that higher place of learning in Moscow, the University of Idaho, home of Sarah Palin.

I don't think he is scared of an investigation. Having players arrested is not an NCAA violation unless it is a gambling related. I think he's being honest about the workload and lack of time with family. Division I coaches are working 100% of the time from July until early January. This is not an exaggeration, some of them sleep at the office many nights a week. And in the off season they are recruiting and fundraising which is a 60+ hour a week job and many of days are on the road away from home. It's tough, but if you love the job it's worth it.

Now Gator, you can't say that Florida has done nothing wrong. Sometimes this stuff comes out of nowhere and can devastate a program. From Urban's standpoint and my exposure to him in the Mountain West Conference he is an extremely honorable and tough man, in addition to being one hell of a ball coach. However, being a UNLV fan I can say that when the NCAA sets their sites on you're in deep shit.

UNLV's basketball program has been placed on probation twice for violations of a player that never played or even enrolled at the university. Lamar Odom was given money ($1400) from a dentist that happened to be a booster for the program and the coach was fired and we were on probation for a year. "Lack of institutional control". Back in the Tarkanian days, Lloyd Daniels was caught buying crack after he committed to UNLV, but before he enrolled and Tarkanian immediately revoked the scholarship offer. During the investigation they found Daniels had large amounts of cash and the NCAA said the only place he could have gotten it was UNLV basketball so Tark was forced to resign and the program was put on probation. No proof was ever found that there was any wrong doing and Tark won millions from the NCAA in a lawsuit, but the school and team suffered.

I say all this because you never know what is going to happen.

why do you insist on making something more of this that it really is? If you saw Urban's presser at 6 last night then you's see he is being honest about this and I have to say, as well as ESPN said that he did have the gleam back in his eye. I believe he made the decision just as he said he did and he is finally at peace. Whatever bullshit you say Florida is corrupt for will be news to me as well. I can assure you that they are no more guilty of corruption then any other school in the country. Isnt your boys at USC the single most guilty program ever?
"Screw the SEC".....I know how you guys out there feel. It has to be so tough accepting the fact that its always going to be the best conference in college football. With Auburn in the NC this year what is that now? 5 straight appearances? Gotta be a record in there somewhere....
Anyway based on our AD, Jeremy Foleys short list of coaches, many who have already interviewed that I have privvy information on but will not release it due to my loyalty to my fellow alumni who told me this out of extreme secrecy I would be more worried about Florida being stronger than ever when the smoke clears the air, probably by the weekend....now, move along son, the Big Gator gotta eat!

I bet Urban Meyer, wishes he would have stayed retired after last season... the outlook for Flordia next year must of been very grim for 2011.... or he just got burnt out of coaching, recruiting and babysitting college kids... which I could understand... the pressures of maintaining being on TOP... just got to be a killer mentally on you...

Fuck this guy and good riddance. He turned that football program into a never-ending episode of Cops. Maybe he couldn't survive now that Tebawl isn't there to sob their way to a fraudulent national Championship. This guy cut every corner known to man, recruited thugs and had zero undefeated seasons. None, nada, nil, zip. Go visit your former players in prison, asshole.
