Exactly, and last year's was a doozy and hard for me as you know, and actually didn't really work until later in the year as you know too, and I know I don't HAVE to wait until January one, I just am because I like Thanksgiving and Christmas treats  , and so setting the goal any earlier to lose the 20# off my fat ass I need to wouldn't be too damn smart, now would it? I want cookies for now, dammit  (which btw, did you make those ones you make every year yet? I think your new resolution should be to join me in my mean camp! I will need some new recruits if I fail!!

January is just a blah month. It's like the let down after all the holidays. It's winter, it's cold. There is not much else to do but think about life. The perfect time to start fresh  I will be working on my ass in January too   Parfait thinks I'm fat   I didn't make my sugar cookies yet!! I wait until a couple of days before Christmas, so they are fresher for the week! So we'll need to have a card night that week after Christmas and I'll share!! My chocolate covered popcorn too!!

I'm with you, Mel. I think new year's resolutions are great. It's easy to track the day you started said resolution on, and it gives you a fresh start and clean slate. Sure, you could start them at any time like a few have mentioned, but you could also buy presents, don them with Christmas wrapping paper and put a fucking tree in your house in June, but people save that for Christmas, just like people save resolutions for the New Year! Tradition, bitches!

Calm down, y'all. I wasn't taking shots at anyone or calling anyone names. (I won't speak for Gunner up there though) Just an opinion.

And you're right Dan, you don't have to wait for Christmas or any other holiday to give gifts either... and honestly, I don't wait. If I see something someone I love might like, I'm likely to get it for them no matter what month it is. It's nice to have traditions, I agree, but self improvement and generosity with loved ones don't have to be dependent upon the calendar. :D And in fact, it's nicer when it's not dependent on a holiday.

I was joking around hence the smilies, I come here to have fun rather than taking shots at someone, no reason to calm down, but thanks for the suggestion  I actually like Eeyore's posts, I think his humor is hysterical!

Why is it such a big deal that some people don't buy into the traditional New Year's resolution or that some do? Got damn guys. If you do, you do, and good luck. If you don't, you don't, and good luck.

Seeing as you have a Scandinavian backround, do you like Monk Fish Fillets? I was watching Tina Nordström cook these and it looks to be done a little differently than how they do it in Thailand.

I don't know how they do it in Thailand, but I prefer fish (kinda goes for all foods) taste as pure as possible. Cook it until it gets some color, throw some sel de mer and lemon on it, and it's good to go. But yeah, I like it. :)

In Thailand, I think the curry and act of boiling takes away from the taste. I notice a lot of Tina's fish dishs are very pure, with the fish always being the stand out entree, not mixed in and lost with a bunch of other ingredients.

You shouldn't really trust a swede, since they're basically retards. The only thing they're good at it working in restaurants and being way too homosexual in clothing stores. Go into a Norwegian high end clothing store, and you'll be bombarded by minimally paid Swedish boy-girls.

About the fish: it depends on what you prefer. I like it when duck tastes like duck and salmon tastes like salmon, not ketchup, cream or whatever.

Ebake: It's called Christmas ribs, according to wikipedia.

Yup. I honestly can't say that there's never been any foods I've tried that I didn't like. I prefer seafood and poultry to beef and pork though, which I think can be pretty boring. Lamb meat is absolutely amazing.

I watch chefs like Tina, Andreas Viestad, Sara La Fountain and Claus Meyer. I have noticed that at least 50% of their entrees include fish. Not so much poultry though, but goat, and other meats.

I know that in Norway, they are way too civilized to eat this.
But yes,it's a pork roast, where they leave the fat on the meat. The fat turns hard.It is called crackling and is salty like chips.
Kids will eat the crackling (flaeskesvaerd),as junkfood.
