Our House was at the bottom of a major hill...a lot of cars would get completely STUCK in the snow.
I remember my Dad would invite people in to make phone calls to whomever to call for help.

It's been a snowy winter here in Minneapolis too. We have had 35 inches this month already (18 in one snowstorm) and you can't see a thing at intersections. I don't know what they do with it in the UP of Michigan or the lake effect snows in the NE where they get hundreds of inches in a winter; it takes days for them to hall it away from downtown and uptown here so you can see the parking meters. Plus here, with temps below zero much of the winter, it never melts once it falls.

Don't you live in Connecticut? Since when did Connecticut become the snow belt? I know NYC very rarely gets any serious snow and I always assumed CT (at least the part near NY) was about the same, in terms of snow.

Dude....CT is effed up, as far as Winter Weather is concerned:

1995 - Major snowstorm every weekend.

My Bday 10.04.87....ton of Snow.

I guess it's relative. In Massachusetts, we seem to have so many of these storms that most of them aren't really that memorable.
