The potholes were friggen ridiculous - I felt like I was playing Gran Turismo at times. I doubt the bankrupt state of California will be on top of these for awhile. Careful driving if you visit anytime soon.

Had a great trip with the g/f. We had stops in San Diego, Channel Islands (Ventura), Santa Barbara and Pismo Beach. Incredible sky line and ocean views, we literally chased the storm. We were lucky to have access to a house on the beach for a few days which was bitchen.

Only downside, had some car issues (a plastic protector got scraped up and almost caused us to be stuck in the middle of no where central california on the way back home), but jerry rigged a solution with some shoe laces. (too friggen funny). I also fought as long as I could a cold, which appears to have turned into a sinus infection.

Anyway... Here are some pictures for those of you interested. We road the storm and made out pretty good.

Nice photography Brandon. Thanks for posting that.

I went to Pismo Beach when I was 16. I stayed with my Grandmother, god rest her soul, for the summer, and every weekend it was a trip to the coast. She lived in Lindsay, a couple of hours away, and was quite the penny pincher, so we usually spent the night in the car, which was the case at Pismo. We were woke up at 7am by two thugs having a knife fight right in the Pismo Beach parking lot, not 15 feet from the car. We skedaddled out of there to say the least. That was a really great summer that I'll never forget.

Looks like it's not going to rain anymore and the ocean is back to the usual beautiful blue. With the clear skies back, the sunsets are going to be amazing again.

Here's some visuals that only Mommy Nature can come up with. Storms and Sunsets. 8)

I was just lucky to catch the "shows" (and 2 incredible lightning bolts!) on camera. :)

Ventura. It's such a great place, isn't it? The Channel Islands are right in front of me, can see them so clearly today. : )
