I snagged that show off of another forum, can't remember which one, but I lost it when my backup hard drive failed.. I never figured out which forum it was, where I got it, and didn't look for it too hard, but I'll bet it's still out there somewhere.
I'm not sure what others use to make their videos, but I used Nero's Vision program with it set to Highest Quality, and it came out pretty good. Very big files to upload though, so it took a lot of time.

Check out his take on Lovin' You Is Easy - wow!!

The dude was was REALLY good and sounded just like Perry did from 78-80 on the good stuff before Rolie split. His band during that period was tight as well. You really couldn't tell if you were listening to Captured or not at the show I seen. Listen to Jason at the 1:18 mark on that barber shop clip. The dude naturally has THE voice. How Fro missed Jason during the rounds 1,2 and 3 of trolling for a new singer is amazing to me. But then again, no one has accused Fro of being the sharpest tool in the shed either. Kelty is good, really good.

I doubt he ever would have been a good fit in other ways. He left secular music for a long time. He doesn't seem like the type that would want to be on the road at all looking at the direction his life took with non-secular music.

Hey man.
My name is Scott and I'm the guitar player from ESCAPE--with Jason Kelty. I followed this link from your profile on Melodic Rock Forums. I've been trying to get on the forums there to spread the word that ESCAPE has reformed with Jason and original members and is booking shows. I have not been able to register--never received the email from the admin that they ok'd my account so I can't post up yet. I was hoping you could do me a favor and spread the word and if possible, pm the admin so I can get on the forums there. I appreciate the help. Here's our new website address too.

He needs to loose the tails, they were goofy enough on Perry, completely laughable on a tribute singer.

Perry has long been mocked for those ridiculous, self-absorbing digs. He single-handedly gave Journey the "chick band" stigma. The guy just never gave off any vibe of masculinity.

On the younger Jason he sounds DEAD on SP, especially on Lovin You Is Easy. But on the newer stuff, his voice has obviously thickened, his timbre (spelling?) sounds much fuller. He's a very good singer, but I think 40'ish Arnel sounds better than 40'ish Jason. If you listen to the tracks here: http://www.escapethejourneytribute.com./samples.html you can easily tell the difference between the young (Loving You) and older (Faithfully) Jason. The highs on Faithfully sound a bit weak, obvious falsetto now, etc. Still....don't want to dis-respect because he still sounds VERY GOOD and will blow away alot of other tribute singers.
Rockindeano wrote:Kelty is good alright. I do think he strains a bit more than Pineda, but then again, maybe he IS trying to sound like Espee?
More importantly, is that the original Journey music kelty is singing to? Sure as shit sounds like Schon on Faithfully.

Just how good does Pineda's cock sauce taste, Steve? He is good for sure, but Kelty brings NO accent to the table. I just can't get past the horrible accent.
Oh and by the way, your sentence is retarded. Jeremey Hunsicker IS a tribute singer and once was offered the gig. Arnel Pineda WAS a tribute singer who got the gig. The fact is a tribute singer is singing in Journey. You can't spin this, even through your sperm filled eyes, you must be able to see that this is the case.

That Escape band sounds fantastic, the guitarplayer nailed that solo on "Faithfully".
A lot of singers wish they sound like Perry but than again if they do they wouldn`t get a price for originality.
A singer hired by Journey probably is in a constant state of ambivalent conflicts because he has to sound like Perry and if he does he is a "fucking copycat" and if he doesn`t he isn`t "up to par" and not suitable to be a Journey singer.
Pineda and Journey did Oprah maybe next time they visit the DR Phil show.
