Bull sharks can live in BOTH types of waters.

We tend to think of sharks as being ocean dwellers, although there are a handful of species that live in freshwater. But bull sharks can live in both ocean waters and also in fresh water rivers, estuaries, and lakes for some time. They can do this because of their own special ability to adapt the process of 'osmoregulation'. Osmoregulation is the ability of an organism to maintain a constant concentration of water in its body even when its outside environment would normally cause it to loose or gain water. Freshwater and saltwater fish both osmoregulate. But bull sharks can adapt their osmoregulatory processes to survive in a broad range of water salinities, from the salt water of the ocean to the fresh water of a lake.

I would rather tangle with a bull shark than one of those cocksucking sea snakes...those fuckers have more poison than any other snake...I hate them bastards.

That is true about the bull sharks. There have been people through history swimming in rivers with brackish water attacked by sharks. Bull sharks are actually at the top of the lists for most aggressive sharks usually, above Great White sharks. Jaws should have been a bull shark!  That's scary though! I feel SO bad for all the people affected by this :(

Can you imagine bumping around some downtown Brisbaine mall, hitting up the Starbucks for a latte, and then having some hungry shark biting the living shit out of your sticks? What the fuck!? Pretty soon you see red all over the place, and one of your wheels are missing. Then to cap that shit off, some croc meanders through announcing his presence with authority, snapping his beak around like he is king shit. No thanks! You can have that god awful place!

They do have more venom, but they're non aggressive and virtually harmless to humans. To my knowledge, there have never been any deaths to humans from them. The damn Jellyfish and the Blue Ringed octopus is what you should be afraid of!

Well that would happen here in Florida too, if we ever had a flood event like this! And NO! I can't imagine! Hope it never happens! Only the coastal areas would have the sharks though. We'd have LOTS of gator and snake issues though.

Be "funny" all you want, but when it all comes down to it, then you would have best chance of surviving with me, not chicken breast Beshad or the cookie munching loons (though they would make a good floating device). Knowledge in emergency medicine, strong as a Ronnie Coleman and got the cardio of Bjørn Dæhlie and I watch Bear Grylls.

I meant chicken chest or whatever it's called. You know, when someone's got a lack of muscle - a feminine build. My point still stands however. Do you think you'd be a better survivor? And remember, laughing at your own jokes and participating without ever having a sound point or argument really isn't qualities a survivor needs.

Devastating

My heart goes out to them & hope there is no more loss of life.
Mother nature is restless.
