I did see Kickass! Loved it! Heard buzz about a sequel but haven't kept up on details. I actually liked Spider-Man 3 for all it's flaws -- the main one is the classic superhero movie mistake of trying to cram too many villains in, and I think that's really the studio's fault for pushing Sam Raimi to include Venom -- he likes the classic villains and never wanted to include him. The emotions of the film were great and continued to make the characters sympathetic, and the dynamic between Parker and Mary Jane continued to develop their characters. I know some people may have thought the dancing scene in the club was stupid, but I wasn't bothered by it. I didn't care for the "New Goblin" idea, but it was ok -- really finished out the Peter/Harry arc. Sandman was awesome!

When they changed that in the 3rd movie I was pissed. 2nd...Topher Grace was in no way the same build or height like Eddie Brock in the comics. Brock was a muscle bound 6"2 man, mabye more. Garfield is twice the actor Tobey is, but this is one franchise that did not yet need a reboot. For all it's faults, Spiderman 3 was no Batman & Robin.

I like Spider-man 3 also, but had a few problems such as...Sandman did not kill Uncle Ben in the comics, it was like the 1st Spider-man movie showed it to be. I totally agree -- Hollywood is in reboot overload, and for some series' it's done much too quickly and for no seeming reason other than the last film didn't hit the same stellar numbers at the box office. I think the word "reboot" has become overused anyway and is being misapplied where it doesn't really count.

His costume will change, but they were going for an authentic look with what the materials that would have been around at that time. To me, it looks like they went for a modified flight jacket look. I'm sure by the end of the movie, he'll look different. Or who knows... maybe they'll start out the Avengers film with him being found in present-day times and show it then? I'm pretty stoked about the movie.

I dunno. This film has TWO major things working against it for me.

#1 — Cap is pretty much Marvel's equivalent of Superman, i.e. a character that I have long lost interest in and find so boring I wish they wouldn't even bother. Since he's an Avenger, I understand there's no way around this since they need to set up that movie, too.

#2 — They cast Evans as Cap. Huh?! Not only did this guy already play the Human Torch (which he looked okay for) in two of the worst modern superhero films made alongside Daredevil, Elektra, and the first Hulk, but he just does NOT fit the square-jawed mold that is required to make the character look believable. Captain American is not a pretty boy, if you get my drift.

At least Chris Hemsworth pumped up with Hans & Franz for Thor. I can buy his persona based on the stills and the trailer.

Cap from Ultimate Avengers looked more badass, and he had NO wings. I was hoping they'd do away with the wings. Some things just don't translate to film without looking silly.

I'm physicked for this. I kind of dig the new look on Spiderman. In today's day in age, every movie, besides Green Lantern, is taking the dark and grungy look on a Super Heroic character with the success's of the Batman franchise. I'm loving it. I like the way the new Spidey costume looks and the overall nifty design and material. A little changed up so I dig it. Captain America looks absolutley AMAZING!

Yeah, the "scales" here and there were meant to represent a mail shirt, but some artists would ink patterns a certain way that would more realistically reflect it. When art began to get more hyperdetailed, some guys would literally draw and ink every individual segment on Cap's shirt. Some art looks great, but some of it looks sterile due to being so hyperdetailed. Atmosphere suffers for it. It really depends on the artists.

Btw, that statue is nearly the Ultimate Cap, except for different boots and the flat wings. He's even wearing jeans!
