I know. If that dictator Bush hadn't invaded, Uday and Kusay could still be raping women at will.

I know this troubles you leftists and keeps you up mourning all night.

It also doesn't help that it was a successful war. Lefties hate that too!

It was about OIL, RWF....not about atrocities. Hell, if the administration was concerned about atrocities they would have invaded Sudan(Darfur), and Jong's Korea....

Abosuletly not, it shows that you are wrong again. The oil money is going to the Iraq gov/people. not us you dipshit, otherwise gas could be $2.00 a gallon. We didn't go to war and steal their oil. It's simple and we see it daily at the corner.

You think our greedy government would pass on the savings to us , you moron ?!
No matter how much extra oil we get from Iraq , the prices around the corner would only be affected by what we BUY and at what price. The free shit goes straight into our resereves.

Nice find RedWing , but funny how you seem to forget that during Bush's 8 years gas prices reached $4 a gallon ;)

Here's a great commentary from Keith Olbermann about the shooting. Very well stated.

he sure had a lot to say the day of the shooting... before any facts about the shooter & his motive were even known. aren't they still trying to piece together what was going on in this young man's head? according to a friend of his he wasn't into politics, didn't watch tv or listen to talk radio. so how can you be influenced by things you're not hearing or seeing. there is no excuse or defense for what this kid did. the blame falls squarely on his shoulders... & on those around him that were in denial that he is mentally ill & a drug abuser. maybe if he would have gotten the help he needed 6 people would be alive today.

wasn't it not too long ago metal was being blamed for deaths? if we believe that we can believe that is was the music this kid was listening too...

So, the reason we went to war in Iraq is now because the brothers of a dictator were raping women.

First time I've heard that one...how lame.

And, it was NOT a 'successful war' because 'success' was never clearly defined by W.

The fact is....washington/politicians ARE responsible for the things that these whackjobs do....even if it is indirectly. As few have said here; this country's managers need to smarten the fuck up. I guess no one got the message on 9/11....besides being absolutely looney tunes, those terrorists said they don't like the way we live and conduct ourselves. You could extrapolate that into meaning that this country needs to wise up government-wise. Loughner talked about 'centrism'. MOst people here, and in the country do not realize the mind fucking washington does to us. They preach bi-partisanship, but deep inside they thrive on division. They flourish in a society where there are two or more 'factions' i.e. parties...The common folk think they are voting issues, and philosophies...when in effect, both parties are really quite the same....it is a false sense of governing. They get paid hellacious amounts of money to stand in front of a podium and defer the remaining time to the distinguished senator from Wyoming. And making back room deals: You vote yes on the Health care bill, and I'll vote on your State Highway Bill. Meanwhile, a secret group of soldiers that nobody knows about is washing up on shore of some third world country, waiting to whack a potential leader - because if he would have gotten in - we wouldn't have this great deal on microchips....or whatever. Ask yourself why we haven't invaded Korea. The Sudan? Iran? Ceasescu? And why we chose to invade Iraq? You really think Desert Storm/Shield was really to aid Kuwait? Yeah, if aiding means safeguarding our oil interests.....

It was a war that should have never have happened. MORE people should have been complaining before and shortly after....and the true idiots are the ones who waited years into the thing to start voicing their opinion.

Re-read my post and show me where I said that that was the reason we went in. I said if we hadn't gone in the raping would still be going on. I'm guessing that reading comprehension wasn't your strong suit.

Yeah, and in the 40's there were murders that happened on the streets of America. We didn't need to go put an end to the gassing of millions of Jews during WWII huh?

The raping hasn't stopped. Instead of Saddams bros , the women get raped by either insurgents or our soldiers. But of course youre living in denial , thinking we actually brought FREEDOM to Iraq.

We were talking about innocent women being raped. Not enemy combatants being held in custody.

And I'm assuming that these people would be rightfully charged, right? How about Uday and Kusay were they ever charged? No? See the difference between possible crimes and what's basically state sanctioned rape that goes on indefinitely??

Actually FF it's a bit more complicated than that...

As long as the US is a petro-dependent country.. we'll need to exert influence in the region (and others), because it is "strategic"... thus guaranteeing a supply of oil... all modern militaries are heavily oil-dependent.. from the gasoline to the petro based technologies they use.. that's why the Chinese are gobbling up oil resources like crazy and thats why we built the largest Embassy in history there....

This is really a disgusting thing to say, painting our troops to be like criminals. Obviously, there are going to be some law-breakers in ANY large group of people, but to paint all our people with that kind of broad brush is just wrong.
