WHITESNAKE: New Album Title, Artwork Unveiled - Dec. 22, 2010
http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbe ... mID=151315

Legendary rock band WHITESNAKE has set "Forevermore" as the title of its new album, tentatively due at the end of March 2011 via Frontiers Records. Check out the cover artwork below.

Regarding the CD's title, WHITESNAKE mainman David Coverdale stated, "Don't forget, 'tis ONE word. Otherwise it sounds like a bleedin' Valentine's Day card, which it ain't!"

According to a press release, WHITESNAKE's follow-up to 2008's "Good To Be Bad" will be "a solid, natural progression from the band's last opus, which was awarded by the influential Classic Rock magazine as 'Best Album of the Year' in 2008." "As always, we want to take it to the next level," stated David Coverdale. "I feel that with the last album we achieved a strong WHITESNAKE 'cocktail' that comfortably embraced and mixed all the previous musical aspects and styles of the band's history, while taking our identity a little further... all on one album."

"The new songs are in the very familiar and recognizable WHITESNAKE territory of soulful, bluesy, melodic power rock, with a couple of ballads thrown in for good measure," the singer said. "It can't be a WHITESNAKE album without ballads, mate!"

I thought "Good To Be Bad" was pretty solid. Loved the first four tracks on the album, and the ballads were very good, "Summer Rain" and the closer "Til The End Of Time."

Apparently, Reb Beach (one of my favorite guitarists) will be featured a little more prominently on the new WS album, according to one of his recent posts on his site. Doug Aldrich is a fantastic player and I think some interplay between he and Reb should prove to be interesting in the guitar department. Hopefully, DC has made a strong recovery, vocal-wise.

Update From Reb Beach:
"Well, it was a great year with the Winger boys. We toured all through Europe, and had a great run in South America. I am home now, and looking forward to writing something cool. I recently went to Tahoe to record the new Whitesnake record. It was a great experience. I worked closely with Doug and David, and we got some great solos. I did allot of singing, as well, and I even had the honor of doing sort of a duet with David. The record sounds fantastic with some classic Whitesnake type songs."

I ranked Good To Be Bad, as one of my top 3 Whitesnake cds. Most all the songs were pretty strong, Cover. and band sounded good, the songs were good as was production. Only a couple songs that I thought was weak. Hope the new cd is as good.

WHITESNAKE: New Album Details Revealed - Jan. 18, 2011

Clip of "Love Will Set You Free" also available here:
http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbe ... mID=152456

WHITESNAKE, the legendary rock 'n' roll legacy founded and formed by renowned singer/songwriter David Coverdale, will release its new album, "Forevermore" on March 29 in North America (March 25 in Europe ) via Frontiers Records. The band's eleventh studio album was recorded, produced and mixed by Coverdale, guitarist Doug Aldrich and Michael McIntyre at Snakebyte Studios and Grumblenott Studios & Villas in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, with additional work at Casa Dala, Sherman Oaks, California.

With "Forevermore" Coverdale has reignited an explosively fruitful vein of creativity with guitarist and co-writer/producer Aldrich, Reb Beach (WINGER, ALICE COOPER) on guitar, Brian Tichy (OZZY OSBOURNE, BILLY IDOL, FOREIGNER) on drums and Michael Devin (KENNY WAYNE SHEPHERD, LYNCH MOB) on bass, and as with all WHITESNAKE's albums, Coverdale aided so capably by Aldrich opens up his heart and soul to express emotions and empathy rarely heard these days in any musical genre.

More than simply their latest release, "Forevermore" represents WHITESNAKE's no-holds-barred, most heartfelt, melodic and musically muscular excursion for many a year.

The album's release will be anticipated by the digital only release of the first single/videoclip, "Love Will Set You Free", on February 21.

"Love Will Set You Free" audio stream:

"Forevermore" will be specially released on a "Snake Pack" edition for the first three weeks in England only. This very special release — arranged in conjunction with Future Publishing and Classic Rock magazine — will come with a collector's edition 132-page deluxe magazine plus A1 poster and metal pin badge and shall feature an exclusive cover art and two bonus live tracks, "Slide It In" and "Cheap An' Nasty", which will serve as an appetizer for the forthcoming "Live At Donington 1990", to be released in the summer 2011.

The album will be also be released on a double gatefold vinyl format, with deluxe special editions to be announced shortly.

How does it compare to "Good to Be Bad"? That one was the best since the s/t 1987 album (European version, that is).
