The question was stupid. If I don't think it should be legal, what sense does it make to say it would be OK to black out parts of it. It's illegal to sexually abuse a child last I checked.

Your comparison was stupid. Child porn is illegal, not censored !

It's two sides of the same coin. Censored or illegal? Same difference. Both require the force of government to achieve the same ends.

No it's not. Saying that Child porn is "censored" by making it illegal is a pretty far stretch. It is an illegal sexual act on a minor to exploit them that way. That is not censorship. A person has to be of legal age to consent to that kind of thing. Then it's NOT censored. It's a poor comparison.

Yes, it is. Child porn is illegal, censored, whatever you want to call it, in most countries. Regardless of what you think, "censored" or "illegal" in this case is basically the same thing.

NO it's not. Something can be CENSORED and NOT illegal. You can't be arrested for using the word faggot. Yet it can be censored. But child porn is illegal no matter what way you look at it, literally. Your comparison is not good. :)

I agree Linda... that SHOULD be porn! I know that's a stretch since they are clothed, but really, some sick men would see them sexually with all that makeup and crap. And my God!! She has MADONNA CONES ON!! At the very least, I think it is a form of legalized child abuse! Some parents are really insane.

Yes, it is. The FCC, for instance, censors certain words from being broadcast over the airwaves for non-subscription radio stations. If a station breaks that law, they are fined or lose their license. The comparison IS good.

All of this comes from a country I lived in for 11 YEARS! I remember when I was growing up there, that there was a HUGE fuss about Bugs Bunny being banned there, and a lot of people (including my parents) where like WTF??? G.I. Joe and Transformers where allowed, yet they said Bugs Bunny was taken off air because of violence. Pretty funny thinking back about it.

It really torques me that prima-donna parents put their kids through this crap and basically force their CHILDREN to grow up instead of letting them just be a kid.

Ugh, I unfortunately caught part of that show just channel surfing one night, and it disgusted me. They even make these little girls wear these hideous denture looking "teeth" over their own BABY teeth so they look more "grown up" and "perfect". And the make up and hair, ugh! And then the moms  Some of them seemed certifiably insane

That does not make it illegal for the masses to use though. That is an FCC thing because the airwaves are owned by the government. They CAN control what they control with legal ramifications. Porn is illegal whether at home, on the streets, on the airwaves, ANYWHERE. It is a sex crime. They are two different things. You are comparing apples to oranges here.

The basic message is sexualized childhood, sponsored by a major cable channel and mainstream advertisers. I think it is the scariest show on TV.

It is. And the mom's make me sick! They are living vicariously through their daughters. For the beauty contests they could never win? Notice, most of the mom's are not really "beauty" contestants themselves. I think their daughters become some sick extension of themselves. Unreal that it's okay to do that to children really.

Thank you for what?? You are making no sense. You are still wrong. It's not illegal for instance if I right here on MR.com call YOU a faggot! :P  But if I find child porn and post it here all the time, someone could turn me in. One illegal, one not. Radio stations and what they air is controlled by the government for what is said, but the masses are not. The MASSES are not allowed to have or be involved in child porn. That is NOT censorship to the masses to say the RADIO can't say faggot. Porn is not censorship no matter what way you look at it. FCC is mainly a civil fine. If ignored, THEN it can be criminal for AVOIDING the fine. Apples/Oranges.

I'm a big fan of sex ... it's just something clearly belongs in adulthood ... and a parent's job is to protect her/his kids, not pimp them out.

Well he is trying to say that FCC fines are the same kind of "illegal" as porn. They are not. FCC fines are civil, and only arrestable if they don't pay the fines. The FINES are the reason, not the word being used. Porn is NOT a civil crime. There is no "FINE" involved.

In my view, if something is censored by the government, i.e. made illegal by force of law, it's the same thing.
