*EDIT* Does this happen in PA? I thought you guys weren't that far away from the Tri-State.

It does, cold like this isn't too common though We get a lot of lake effect in my neck of the woods too.

Sorry to hear this bro, I am in shorts with the front door open, pouring over fresh internet porn. Must be at least 65 right now.

No matter how many winters I experience and no matter how used to the snow/ice/relative cold of winter that I am in general, this part of the winter where we go for days on end at below zero never fails to shock/jar you. Unbelievably gay. I shoulda moved when I had the chance.

It was -14 when I walked out to the car this morning in a t-shirt to warm it up. When I turned the key it sounded like Peter North was raping a cat.

I always have a blast during the winter watching all the teenagers and early-20-somethings running around outside with barely anything more than a shirt and pants on, i.e. no coat, gloves, etc. I know exactly what they are doing because I did the same stupid thing when I was a kid. I was trying to prove how tough and cool I was when, the truth of the matter is, I was being as dumb as a box of rocks. At least put a coat on, you imbeciles!

I see it at work every day. It can be 20 degrees outside and people have shorts on. We're allowed to wear shorts year round at work because DFW is considered a "warm weather station". They'll have on shorts, a coat and something around their neck, standing somewhere to block the wind, yet proclaiming "I'm not cold!" when you ask why would they do such a thing? Yeah, ok.

Yeah, I don't get that, either, especially here up north where these people's legs are beat red from being nearly frostbitten and they'll claim that they're not cold.

-27 here in upstate ny...they even closed school most schools around here. both toilets in my house were being used this morning, so i was forced to take a dump outdoors (neighbors on both sides about a quarter of a mile away). my shit pile steamed for only about 2 seconds before it appeared to become rock-hard solid. i was worried my log might freeze while on departure. (thanks for letting me vent)
