Gazebo vs. hawk

Postby Journey Mom » Fri Jan 28, 2011 9:12 am

Woke up this morning to find a Cooper's hawk stuck in my gazebo. He had apparently chased his breakfast into the screen, and they both crashed through. Hawk was ok - his breakfast was not. The poor bird was so freaked out, he kept flying around in there and crashing into stuff. I thought briefly about trying to shoo it out, but one look at his talons convinced me to leave him alone. It took several hours, with the door propped open, before he decided to leave. Unfortunately, he left behind the remnants of his breakfast for me.

After looking a picture of a Cooper's Hawk I don't blame you for not stick your hands in there. Looks like he could disembowel a person with those talons.
