i have a brother in law who does this discreetly or he thinks he does.its a poorly kept secret.no one else in my family does it and hasn't in years.anyway this guy has thyroid issues, high blood pressure, etc. he is a fit dude besides that but just because of his age and him being right at 50 i keep telling him that shit is going to give him a heart attack one day.i firmly believe when people get up there in age that cocaine, speed, meth, etc. are all bad on an aging persons heart.i OD'd at age 25 on cocaine plus excessive drinkng.i would wake up with my hands shaking like a leaf.at the time i was smoking four packs of cigs a day.oh and i did not eat hardly ever.i think what set me over the edge is i never slept.i did this stuff for years since i was sixteen or seventeen nonstop.they literally put me in baptist hospital one day because of non stop seizures.i was there a month getting well.that was over ten years ago and i haven't drank, smoked a cigarette or done any drugs since besides painkillers and the rare toke on a joint.

if I was 20 Charlie Sheen would be my partying hero!! Now though, he just must be really depressed to just feel the need to keep going like he is every day...

From what I understand, the people that keep up that kind of lifestyle are pretty much always miserable.

I feel the same way. At the rate he is going, how long before the funeral? I don't dislike him, if he wasn't abusing substance and being an asshole, seems like he's a cool guy. It's a sad story. There's hope for even the worst cases like him and I hope he pulls out.

Agreed. He'd better get help or he's gone. I love 2 and 1/2 Men, but he looks so thin I can hardly stand to watch it. Guess we won't have to now for awhile.

I guess he is the posterboy to remind us fame and fortune is not the answer to happiness. Being loaded up and spending quality time with young porn stars. Hmmm...what am I saying.

Hes been rich and famous for along time now, seems this behavior would have been behind him
well before his 40 forties, we are only here a short time, living for pleasure alone is futile and empty,
some take longer than others to learn this....

Watched one of the 2 1/2 Men from a couple weeks ago. Chuck Lorre, the creator/writer always has these "vanity cards" at the end, so if you can freeze the screen on them, he has some humorous thing of his own to share each week. The one for that week was:

CHUCK LORRE PRODUCTIONS, #329

I exercise regularly. I eat moderate amounts of healthy food. I make sure to get plenty of rest. I see my doctor once a year and my dentist twice a year. I floss every night. I've had chest x–rays, cardio stress tests, EKG's and colonoscopies. I see a psychologist and have a variety of hobbies to reduce stress. I don't drink. I don't smoke. I don't do drugs. I don't have crazy, reckless sex with strangers.

If Charlie Sheen outlives me, I'm gonna be really pissed.

I just can't imagine wanting to party all the time like that. Even over the last year I pretty much outgrew my desire to go out drinking every weekend. I just can't do that shit anymore. I can't imagine trying to do that shit in my 30s and 40s. I guess it's a different perspective when you don't have to really work like the rest of us, but even still... just hard to even physically imagine it.

I've never understood nor possessed the desire (or need, as it's commonly referred to) to go out drinking every single weekend. Shit, if I did that, I'd be flat broke and out on the street.

WOW,imagine the type of life he lives.this dude probably wakes up to three chicks giving him a blow job.after that he rolls out of bed orders his first drink.while sipping his champaigne he unfolds the morning paper which arrived hours earlier.he then starts reading and calls to check on his bank balance.i imagine he hears something like....your current balance is 75 million,800 thousand, fifty dollars and no cents.he then probably has sex for the first in ten or fifteen times that day.after about an hour he probably has his butler go get him five big macs and three more escorts.a day in the marvelous life of charlie sheen. :D

Well that's because there is a huge difference between partying and addiction. People who party heavy generally outgrow it and stop or at least cut back as they get older, get more responsibilities, kids, etc. Addicts don't stop and their so called partying is no longer a party it becomes a maligant behavior that they engage in to fill some unfulfilled need or to avoid feeling whatever unpleasant feelings they may have, stress, boredom, anger, loneliness, emptiness, grief, guilt etc. While it may sound like he's having great time, the truth is that Charlie doesn't know how to deal with life like a normal person.

Bingo! We have a winner. Charlie Sheen's "party' lifestyle is nothing to be envied.
