Any updates , dude ?!

Poison/38 Special or Bryan Adams/Mr Big, take your pick.

Scorps still on the table but if Van Halen comes calling, it's dead.

There's your update.

Neal's been posting some old collaboration clips of him and EM on his facebook the last week or so. Hmmm. Wonder which of those is going to be my pick. :P

If Scorps get the nod, a tossup between Europe and Cinderella.

I don't play with steveo777's crystal ball that he uses constantly to "predict" the things of Steve Perry, so I don't predict "downfalls" as the others have been predicted "the greatest comeback in the history of rock n roll music" since 2008.

So strange how Steve Perry is dogged and demeaned in every unspeakable way, but yet "ignorant losers who need to get a life" pops up.

Have a Great day!

What are you talking about exactly? Steve Perry? Who said a damn thing about him? Sounds like I struck a nerve.

"Sounds like I struck a nerve." "So soon we forget." You on board and that guitar player yelling from facebook with jealousy b/c of Perry enjoying himself at a baseball game.

FYI - I didn't make predictions, but it was pretty obvious Journey was going down hill since 2008, now trying to climb back up. I have yet to read anything attributing the success of "DSB" to anything the band has done for it is always Sopranos, Glee, and then X-Factor in UK. In fact an article specifically stated it was not the band. The band is not breaking any new ground b/c of anything they have recently done (post-Perry albums), but "living off past glories" esp "DSB." Take that out of the mix. I don't see them as "the greatest comeback in rock n roll history." In Azoff's interview he just spoke of VH (if tour), Glee, Christina A and Kings of Leon as the stadium and arena fillers for 2011.

Could care less about what they do for they will never amount to what they had with Steve Perry no matter how AP insulting mocks him.

You suck dick at grammar, spelling and anything even closely related to coherency. That was probably the most ridiculous string of diarrhea laced vomit I have ever seen. Why do you hang around the internet message board of an old washed up 80's band if you don't care so much? You are by far the more pathetic one in this argument. Sounds to me like the attitude of a bitter ex-wife than someone who "could care less" since you seem to follow news and listen to interviews about them. I don't listen to interviews about Justin Beiber or Lady Gaga....you know why? Because I don't give two flying fucking monkey testicles what those two **** turds are doing with their 15 minutes of fame.

Nope, it's all just fine, but your return rhetoric is as senseless as it was in the other thread, and you didn't even bother to lace it together with "diarrhea." You, just as usual, charging in with supposedly profound wisdom. I listen to interviews, and this band never pops up, just its manager and others in his stable. Guess the world is interested in what Justin and Lady are doing.

I think VH/Scorps would be a tremendous tour….maybe my fave of all time.

I love 38 Special but I don’t think Poison is a good fit at all for Journey. I don’t want Journey lumped in with the weaker hair band genre, and even Sirius never plays Journey on Hair Nation. I think a promoter could sell it well as an 80’s nostalgia thing, but I don’t want that either. If Journey wants to remain a solid 2nd tier band who at least gets some minimal respect for creating new music I think they should stay away from this pairing.

Bryan Adams opened for Journey on the Frontiers tour and would make a nice match. I liked him more before we saw him live with Lippard, but I still think it could work. Mr. Big has common connections with Journey whereby Herbie Herbert managed both bands and Eric Martin has worked with Schon a lot and they are friends.

Can I mix and match? Journey/Adams/38 Special

I know Dean-O is gonna start ripping into me about Adams opening so I'm prepared! :D

I did some research. Amongst the venues I could find capacity for, there are some healthy sized arenas. Good for Journey. However, it is obvious that they are indeed going to share the bill with someone with decent road power. my pick now would be either Styx or Bryan Adams or maybe both, excluding the festivals.

Edit- It's not BA. I just looked at his site and he is on the road for June already. Perhaps he will be a part of the North America leg of the tour. He is tuning up the band(the plugged in power version- a great band by the way, who can rival Journey anyday of the week), for an Indian tour....so maybe they are going to be part of a Journey co headline tour....anyway, my money is on Styx and perhaps someone else too. I would think that Journey and Twigs together couldn't fill 23K seat arenas, especially in Europe...unless- maybe the fact that they have not been in Europe for decades(save for Journey's small abbreviated tour a year or two ago), has starved the European fanbase to the point where Journey and Styx come across as fresh.

In any event, my hats off to Journey for attempting this tour. I like the fact they have now dropped balls and are going for it. I personally would love to see a Jrny/Adams bill. two high powered bands that would command the audience...you wouldn't need a third filler band like Mr Big or 38 Special.

PS- and really Chubby, I admire your passion and love for the band, err, Pineda, but "AP's Kingdom?" Really? That is so fucked up it isn't even remotely funny.

Chubby is correct.....in the Philippines, which is where she is from. He's pretty big there right now with all the TV shows he's on, Nescafe' commercial and being a judge on a Philippine Idol type show. Hell, a magazine there just recently did a spread on his home.

That's great for Pineda, Steve. Really, I am happy for him. he seems like a great guy...however, I would reserve "kingdom" for certain acts/musician's, who are legends, and have rightfully deserved the acclaim. Pineda hasn't even written a fuckin song yet!

Secondly, I don't think Neal is too happy with all the Pineda praise...seriously, he doesn't like being overshadowed at all.

PS- I am not out to slam the band or Pineda...I have promised not to piss on either this year. I give props where they are due and criticism where it is due....be fair. So having just said that, if Chubby is truly pumped up and inspired by AP, great for her! You're alright Chubby! :D

Uh, he wrote part of it? Don't take it from me, KS and Neal have both mentioned that AP has been involved in the writing process, in fact 2 or 3 are his babies. Whether they are good or not is yet to be heard. I don't know how the album will be. We'll just have to wait. Hopefully the first couple concerts this year will include a couple of the songs.

I'm happy for you Rip. Have fun! 8)

In 2008, there were 3 Chile venues but one got cancelled. I am guessing there will be at least one more venue.

Dude, why the hell would you fly all the way to Chile to see Neil's band play the dirty dozen??? Completely baffles me.

I figure you must really dig the airport screening patdowns.

Thanks, and wow... I didn't realize there was any more than Vina Del Mar in 2008! Was one a private gig, and which venue did they cancel? I don't think there is a second gig this time, or not back-to-back anyway. If I find out about one, you know how that goes...

Same reason why I went to 8 shows on the Revelation tour. Traveling, meeting people and seeing new places by far supercedes the actual concert itself. I'd love to accompany Rip, but my budget this year just doesn't allow it. Building a new house sucks. :x :x Gonna be worth it, though. 8) Have fun, Ripster.

I wouldn't, not by a long-shot. I would go to see a beautiful country and meet many friends for the first time, see new things, and eat new types of food though. Journey (or music in general) has been a great catalyst for travel with me, and travel has been extremely therapeutic for me. It's an excuse to get off my butt and go, see new places, make friends with common interests.
