Rhi don't bother digging your vehicle out sweets, get inside and grab some sauce.

Angel I've been shaking my head in disbelief all day here.
We are at 22F and the city has called cancellations everywhere.

Shut your hole. I just talked to a friend who works for VIA in southern Ontario and he says that despite the snow, they are running on schedule. The Canucks fefinitely know how to deal with Winter better than the Yanks.

If tomorrow that four legged little fur ball doesn't come out of his hole to say Spring will be here soonly, I'm going to Pennsylvania so I can slice and serve him to Jack Frost.

I second that motion!

And we're getting 2 feet in 24 hours, so put that in your pipe and smoke it, John-Boy!

Hoping to have my first "snow day" in about 12 years tomorrow. Junk food, Wii, and not having a heart attack shoveling are in my plans. Y'all be safe!

Oh, yes, I lived there in the '79 Chicago blizzard...and, to think we were out driving in it - or trying to! I still miss snow, but I do feel for you guys right now...2 feet?! Holy moly. Have lots of hot cocoa.

It's not the two feet that's a problem... its the wind. This shit drifted bad! The sidestreets are literally impassable. And if a plow does show up, we are double screwed. Never seen anything like this. Just spent an hour plus out there and a barely managed to dig a small moat around three quarters of the car. If a kindly neighbor hadn't run down the sidewalk with a blower to make a path, i would still be hours away from being near the car. This is an nightmare.

I never ever said it wasn't a big deal. I just said all the news drama was unnecessary, as in this is not a surprise, its happened before, so let's deal with it. The news makes it more annoying.

Yeah, they're the reason there's not a gallon of water on the shelves at Walmart, for sure. They love this crap for the ratings. Then they put some poor soul (short straw drawer) out in it, on camera, to suffer for an even more dramatic ratings grab.

Kim, wasn't the storm in Chicago unique in that it was snow lightning? I heard/saw on MSNBC (fuck Fox news), that 2 houses caught afire after lightning struck them last night.

On a side note, and I am not trying to be funny, it was 40 degrees this morning at 7AM, and I froze my ass off. I had levis on and a light flannel! WTF is up with this frigid weather here in socal?

I talked to my mom and some old co-workers/friends from Chicago. They said the worst is over and it wasn't really a big deal if you prepared for it, though the winds were scary at times. My company was smart enough to send everyone home at noon yesterday and shut down completely today. Tomorrow should almost be business as usual.

Yeah, lightning and thunder, plus wind that, even for us, was "holy crap!"

Still not done digging. Have to get back out before the evening... wind chill down to minus 20-30 tonight they say. I took pics of the street so I can text them to my boss to show her why I can't be in again tomorrow... lol

Here in SE Wisconsin, 90 miles north of Chi-town we had 18" of snow. I live in the country. The county had our road plowed by 7:00 am and my husband had our driveway cleared by 9:00 am. Our neighbor's wife works about 15 miles away as an emergency dispatcher. Because of the storm, he took his 4-wheel drive truck to pick her up. This would normally take about 1 hr. round-trip. He left this morning at 12:30 am. & they didn't get home until 5:00 am. Sometimes it just makes more sense to just stay put.

Where the Hell is your city? Canada has taken this storm on and won. They advertised ahead of the storm(VIA did anyway), and said that they will run no matter how bad it gets. The only downfall so far is they have reduced top speeds in the TOR-OTT-MTL corridor from 100MPH to 80MPH. VIA kicks ass.

LOL, take a shit load of them, from different angles. That way, you can send in a few today and then tomorrow, when it has improved, show her some different ones, and keep fucking with her. What is she going to do, come out and see your work? Fuck her right in the ear!

You pussies in Texas don't even know what snow is  Dude...we have two FEET of the shit rolling into Boston over the next 36 hours! They'd probably have to shut the entire state of Texas down until July if that snow ever hit anywhere near you.

Hey there, I assume you are in Texas..how far away are you from Big D, and is it really that cold down there? I am watching Super Bowl interviews all week and they are outside in tents and you can see the breath of the speakers. So just how cold is it?

I'm near San Antonio and it's 17 degrees here. Probably quite a bit colder in Dallas.

Dean, I'm 4 hours south of Dallas, but I just checked and it's showing at 20 degrees up there. I live up in the hill country, so it's probably colder here because of the higher elevation.

We keep getting rolling blackouts to conserve energy. Had to push "save" constantly at work today because I was afraid I would lose my work at any moment. They'll be doing that all week until the cold front's over.

I take it you aren't out doing a stroll with Sweetheart on the the Riverwalk, eh? Beautiful town San Antonio is. Love that place.

Thanks for the reply JH. Say, are hotel rooms being used in SA for the Big Game? In fact, are you actually in SA or between SA and Dallas? I am not a stalker, really I am not.
