Because their not. The best fans in the NFL in no particular order would be Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Seattle(loud fuckers) New Orleans Washington and Philly.

I've never heard anyone say that Red Sox fans are the best fans in MLB.

As much as i hate the Red Sox, they are everywhere! Hell, they are called Red Sox Nation for God's sake!

I've never heard anyone say that Celtics fans are the best in the NBA.

They too, are everywhere.

But I do know that there have been countless lists that have named Browns fans as being the best and most loyal fans in the NFL.

Browns fans are ok, but Bill, just because the eastern endzone has a bunch of dudes who wear dog masks and throw biscuits at the opposing QB does not make them good fans.

And I saw a list a few years back that named Indians fans as the second best fans in Baseball, only behind St. Louis Cardinals fans.

You have got to be kidding?! The Tribe's fans are so good, they draw 4,500 per game after May 1st.

And I have never "bragged" about the Crunch winning that Championship. This was probably only the third or fourth time at most that I've mentioned it. I'm like an encyclopedia when it comes to the Browns, Indians and Cavs. But I had to look up what year it was that the Crunch won that Championship, because I barely care about that. I only mention it because I know that it's inaccurate to say that 1964 was the last time that a Cleveland team won a professional team Championship. and in this case, Seven Wishes had brought up soccer.

Dude, I think(hope), 7 Wishes was being sarcastic with his crunch smack. NO ONE cares about soccer. It's worse than the WNBA!

Honestly, Dean, look it up. There have been countless lists made by sports magazines and websites that have named Browns fans as the best in the NFL. Most of those lists usually ranked Packers fans as the second best. I remember back when Mike Ditka was coaching the Bears that he named Browns fans as the best fans in the NFL.

Do you know that in the mid to late 90's the Cleveland Indians set the all time MLB record for the most consecutive sellouts, with 455 straight sellouts? Your thinking back to the 80's when the Indians regularly finished near the back of the division record wise each year, and were playing in the old outdated Municipal Stadium.

I also said that I don't really care much for soccer either.

Those fuckers have suffered through the pits of hell but continue to hold out the brightest of admiration and optimistic in their Browns. I think Philly, Wash, CHI and K.C fans rank up there as well.

Listen Cleveland Boy...you may have your fans on this board. I'm not one of them. Your rhetoric is fucking insane. For what it's worth, I have never once claimed that Patriots fans are the best in the country. The reality is that prior to ten years ago, the Patriots were one of the worse run franchises in the NFL. I think the Steelers, Packers, and Chiefs would be my top three picks for the best fans. That said, Boston is a FAR better sports city than those three combined, period, end of story!

Who gives a fuck what anyone is saying, what lists your reading, or what Ms. Fucking Cleo is telling you. A statement like this simply tells me that you're all about your agenda and have zero fucking clue what you're talking about. Red Sox fans are fucking LEGENDARY, and it has absolutely NOTHING to do with "Red Sox Nation". The only city in America that comes even remotely close to Boston when it comes to being a GREAT baseball city is St. Louis. Boston is the only city in America where people talk about Spring Training baseball and the equipment truck leaving for Spring Training is the cover story on the newspapers and the lead story on the news. Red Sox fans actually gave Mariano Rivera a standing ovation at the beginning of the 2005 season for completely puking on his cleats during the Yankees historic collapse in the playoffs the season before. Sox fans are dialed in and know what's going on and always have.

NBA fans suck in general, and I don't study the fandom in the NBA. That said, the Celtics remain THE FRANCHISE in the NBA and still have more championships than any other team who has played the game. The Celtics fan support speaks for itself. Celtics fans were the first fans in ANY sport to cheer on a team they were about to lose to (the 76'ers) by chanting "Beat L.A." throughout the Boston Garden. How is that 21 game losing streak in Cleveland working out for you

Show me that list, because that is more moronic shit you're dreaming up. At least you're consistently a jackass. I'll give you that!

First off, it wasn't "a news report". It was some idiotic newspaper called "The Hollywood Reporter" (not exactly The New York Times). I could care less about a moronic list like that. It's every bit as significant as Tom Brady being named to "The Top 25 Coolest Athletes Ever List" by GQ Magazine.

Columbus' soccer team, not Cleveland's.

Everyone I know who's been to Boston wants to live there, except it's just too damned cold.

J/S, you can post on this board again as soon as the Mistake on the Lake wins a championship in one of the 4 major sports.

Which should be right around the time Dukakis wins the Democratic nomination again.

I love J/S, but trying to ignite an intense amount of gasoline comparing Boston VS Cleveland is seriously suicide! There is no particular way that Cleveland could even compete in any type of definition.

All freaking winter long people in Cleveland, the media included, are always saying "Only 60 days until pitchers and catchers report to spring training," "Only 34 days until pitchers and catchers report" etc, etc. The Cleveland newspapers and TV news always show the equipment trucks leaving Cleveland to head to spring training. Cleveland always used to have the largest opening day crowds in all of Baseball every year, and that was when the Indians did suck on a regular basis.

As far as you not being a "fan" of mine... No shit... I already know that, and I don't give a rats ass. I first came across you on the old Journey Back Talk forums, and even though we never discussed Cleveland or Boston on there, I knew you were an asshole from any and all of your posts.

The Sox have always drawn in the mid-20's, even when they were toiling in the late 80's and 90's and had numerous losing campaigns. The same cannot be said for Cleveland, which abandons the Indians as soon as they're more than five games out of first (which is every year, come May 1st).

Victor Martinez had tears in his eyes when the Indians traded him to the Red Sox, and said that he wanted to play his entire career in Cleveland. He couldn't get out of Boston soon enough, he signed with Detroit as soon as he became a free agent. Manny Ramirez was always telling people that he wanted to be traded back to Cleveland while he was on the Red Sox.

Almost everyone that lives in Cleveland wants to live here the rest of their life. And I know of a lot of cases where people moved out of Cleveland only to turn around and move back because they liked Cleveland way better than where they had moved to.

There have been Cleveland news reporters who were offered and accepted contracts with one of the big national networks, and after a while they ask out of their contract so they can return to Cleveland. Almost all of the guys that play on Cleveland's sports teams that were born and raised in other cities choose to stay in Cleveland after they retire.

Over 40 years ago a small part of the Cuyahoga river caught on fire because of greedy companies illegally dumping industrial waste in the river so they wouldn't have to pay to have it disposed of properly. That was over 40 years ago, and the river is as clean as any other river in America ever since. But the hack writers for Johnny Carson made jokes about it, and since they were hacks, they would just recycle the same fucking joke over and over year after year. Next thing you know, you have most of the country falsely thinking that Cleveland is a bad place.

I can tell you for a fact that almost everyone who comes to Cleveland and spends any amount of time sightseeing the city winds up loving Cleveland.

And by the way, a stadium can't win a Championship. Especially one that doesn't even exist anymore. The supposed "Mistake On The Lake" was Municipal Stadium, not the city of Cleveland.

Since Jacobs Field/Progressive Field opened in 1994 the Indians always had great attendance all season long with the exception of the last two years. And that is mostly a rebellion against the Dolan family, who happen to be the cheapest and worst owners in all of MLB right now. The Dolan's are so hated by Cleveland that no one wants to spend one cent that the Dolan's will profit from.

The Red Sox on the other hand, always rank in the top 3 for largest payrolls in MLB. Yes, massive payrolls and steroids can buy you a couple of titles.

Bill,

Dude, i love your loyalty to your city, but um, the Cavs lost their 22nd straight tonight. They have upcoming games next week where you can get a ticket for 7.50. No, that's not a typo, it's a fact.

I also remember that the Indians were drawing maybe 6,000 to a game in the last month(that was paid admission, not actual), and the bargain was if you went to the Tribe game, you got a free Cav ticket for later that night. I mean dude, it doesn't get any worse in sports tha it is in Cleveland right now.

Cavaliers- 8-41

Browns- 5-11. The Browns finished 20th in attendance filling up the Dog Pound to 90.3% capacity. In contrast, the Pats finished 14th, and sold every seat to every game, checking in at 100% capacity.

Indians- 69-93, (2009, 65-97)
The Indians finished DEAD last in attendance averaging 17,435- they filled 40.2% of the Jake up. Not good.
In contrast, the Boston Red Sox averaged 37,610, finishing 8th (Fenway is a small yard), but get this, they filled that place to 100.2% capacity.

Barons- Moved the fuck outta town!
So far this season, the Bruins have sold every seat for every game, a 100.% capacity.

Have to hand it to Boston sports. The only thing they could do better is to build a bigger Fenway!

Maybe that's a stretch Bill. I still want to meet you dude.

Indians finished in attendance-

1994- 4th
1995- 4th
1996- 3rd
1997- 5th
1998- 4th
1999- 2nd
2000- 1st
2001- 4th
2002- 12th
2003- 24th
2004- 25th
2005- 24th
2006- 25th
2007- 21st
2008- 22nd
2009- 25th
2010- 30th last

The Yankees, Dodgers, Tribe, Blue Jays and Colorado were number 1 in these years at one time or another, the Yankees dominating the last 10 years.

The Red Sox sold out at 100% in every year but one.

A new stadium always brings out great attendance but wears off. You can look atthese numbers and see who got new stadiums just by looking at the numbers. Baltimore had Camden. Atlanta, Seattle, Colorado, etc. The only team that got a new yard that didn't do dick in attendance was......Pittsburgh.

Boston has a larger population than Cleveland, and yet Cleveland has the larger Baseball stadium, and I think larger Football stadium as well? The more people you have in a city, the easier it is to sellout the place. And admittedly, Cleveland's economy is suffering right now, which is somewhat a result of being a blue-collar town that is loosing jobs at steel mills and factories. And as much as we love sports in Cleveland, you have to worry more about feeding your family over buying expensive tickets to games.

And like I said, the Dolan family that owns the Indians are the cheapest and worst owners in Baseball right now. They almost seem to enjoy pissing off Indians fans. Their a bunch of damn fucking liars too.

As far as the Cavs... For one... the team is LOADED with injuries right now, and I think their playing for the most ping-pong balls in the lottery this next spring. It's one of the fastest ways to get good again.

I'm gonna leave this up for a few minutes longer, and then I'm just gonna delete the damn thread. I'm sick of arguing the same shit over and over.

Bill man, you can't delete the thread once it's been responded too. Don't get all pissy, it was good banter. You made your points and held your own.

I will say one last thing regarding Boston's size and it's smaller Fenway. Without looking, I can bet you my testicles that a Red Sox ticket costs shitload more than an Indian ticket.

Okay, I looked.

The average ticket for a Bosox game is $64.65 and rank 6th.

The Tribe checks in at 33.44 and ranks 22nd.

Here are the top ten, and a few surprises.

New York Yankees $89.93
Minnesota 82.76
Texas 75.70
St Louis 73.55
Toronto 71.39
Boston 64.65
Chisox 64.39
Mets 62.96
Kansas City 59.27
Giants 55.04

The bolded were a shock to me, especially KC. No wonder they only draw 5,000 a game.

I'm not getting pissy, I'm just sick of the arguments.

The Indians did just lower their ticket prices recently.

When the Dolan's bought the Indians from Dick Jacobs they made all of these comments about how they were willing to spend whatever amount of money it would take to make the team a winner and how they wouldn't be happy with just one World Series title, they want to win a bunch of them. After a couple of years of a decent team payroll they kept cutting the payroll season after season. Every time a good player was approaching free agency they would trade him because they were unwilling to pay him what he was worth.

They kept telling fans that they'd spend more money the next season to make the team better, only to turn around and lower the payroll even more.

Cleveland hates the Dolans, and we figure we'll spend our money on the Browns and Cavs who's owners actually spend money on their teams. I forget who said it, but back in the 80's someone (Not from Cleveland) referred to the Indians and their fans as "The sleeping giant." He said that if the team were to get an owner who gave a damn about more than just money, and that made the team good again, that the Indians would have huge crowds at all of the games again. Well, when Jacob's bought the team and turned the franchise around, the Indians set the major league record for the most consecutive sellouts of all time with 455 straight.

Trust me, if the Dolan's would sell the Indians to an owner that cares about more than just money, and that makes the team good again, the Indians will go back to selling out all of their games. Especially if the economy turns around.

Not much. Boston has about 100K more people than Cleveland and Columbus is larger than Boston is.

Just one more illustration why you are a complete fucking MORON! I honestly don't know how anyone who was born and raised in Cleveland would be proud to claim you as a native son. Civic pride is one thing but this is way over the top. You start a thread on a message board basically telling an entire city to fuck off and then come in here to brag about "mine is bigger than yours". Listen fuckwad...Let me give you a little history lesson here. Fenway Park was built in 19 fucking 12, back when people were getting around on fucking horses! Get your fucking abacus out and count the years back, toolbag! If you think Cleveland is a better baseball city than Boston, then more fucking power to you. See you in the playoffs. Oh, wait...

By 5000 seats. So what. It means absolutely nothing. You can continue having the larger football stadium. We'll take the tradeoff for the trophies and the wins!

Journey/Survivor wrote:As far as the Cavs... For one... the team is LOADED with injuries right now

Injuries have nothing to do with it. They SUCK. As Jay Leno said "The Cleveland Cavaliers saw their shadow this week and their shadow beat them 108 to 79"

You're the fucking dope who started this whole thing and now you're whining like a pussy about it? Unreal!

Thanks for setting this fuck straight. Also, when you meet him to have a beer with him, slap the shit out of him for me! Perhaps you'll wake him up from the fucking coma that he's in.
