Amazon

I've used Amazon quite a bit over the last few years. I have also used the UK and Japan Amazon pages as well the U.S. one. I have to say it's been a pleasant experience so far. No issues with merchandise, money transactions or delivery from any of the three so far.

Who else here uses it and how has the experience been?

I do. Been doing all my Christmas shopping from there and a few other places for about 10 years now. Nothing like getting it gift wrapped and sent straight to your door without the hassle's of traffic, going to the mall, etc. Plus, never had a bad experience. packages always arrived on time and in good condition. Returns are easy also. I'm happy with it and will continue to shop on Amazon and a few other sites for christmas.

Love it, it's where I buy most everything music ...NOT Wal~market!!
bought that Rollercoaster CD (Jon Cain) that I promised
Tito I would listen to @Amazon used, for $5.oo, I'm pretty sure those
are private sellers ...shipping, though, cost almost as much ... :?
I've purchased a lot through Amazon ...I even have my own little
One Click Ordering and express checkout w/payphrase!!

Great transactions, fast shipping, items in tip~top shape, exactly
as described or better!! Will do business again, Thank you!!

Never had a problem with Amazon. If I can't find something in a store, I check Amazon first and normally I find it. And they usually offer pretty great prices, plus the free shipping thing. Love it. I worried a little when they started partnering with other (unfamiliar online) retailers because the shipment then comes from the 3rd party... but so far I've never had a problem with those kinds of orders either.

One new thing they do with their wish lists and registries that I LOVE is they let you choose if you are purchasing a list item from some place else. Once you click their little email confirmation that you're buying it somewhere else they remove it from the person's list so no duplicates.

I LOVE Amazon.

Buy loads of stuff from them.
And because I value the reviews written by people who have bought items I am looking at, I make sure I write an honest review of my purchases, too.

And I didn't know this existed until I was invited to take part last year,
but
there is something called Amazon Vine.

Amazon choose people to take part and send you an email invitation asking if you are willing to become a 'Vine Voice.'

'Vine Voices' are sent an email newsletter every month and are allowed to choose items from it for free. They have to review 75% of the free items they receive.
The items offered tend to mirror the kind of stuff you buy from them regularly, but sometimes a week after the usual monthly newsletter they will send an additional one and let you choose something else which isn't necessarily targetted personally to you.

I've had free books, computer software, kitchenware, CD players, radios, MP4 players........all kinds of stuff.

And even if I didn't get the freebies I'd still think they are great.
Trustworthy, reliable and if you have problems with any of their 'marketplace sellers' they sort it for you.

I only had one problem with a seller, and after I filed a claim, I got a refund.

Amazon are fab as far as I am concerned.

I love Amazon and don't think I've had a single bad experience from them, whether the merchandise comes from Amazon itself or is sold thru them by another seller. Just got in a pair of Klipsch mobile earbuds today to replace the horrendous ones that came with my iPhone. Another perfect delivery.

I also reference their product reviews a lot -- good stuff.

Their business methods are about as perfect as can get. More companies should follow their example, for they are truly exemplary. :D

Can't say I've ever had a bad experience with Amazon or any of their sellers. I've gotten great deals on "like new" used CD's and books.

I love Amazon and order from them on a regular basis - you can't beat the discounts and free shipping, which they just bumped down to $29 before Christmas. It's brilliant, because I always buy an extra item just to save the shipping fee. Never a problem either - if a book arrives in an unacceptable condition (I am very picky about my books and they are shipped out of warehouses) I can exchange it for free. I take out a lot of books from the library too, but there are ones that I want to keep or the library doesn't have in the catalogue.

I've also purchased items from other sellers affiliated with Amazon for either used or discontinued items and I've never had a problem. I used to work for Chapters a long time ago and after I quit, I started buying from Amazon, but if I can buy locally from an independent bookseller for close to Amazon's price, I will. That's rare though - unfortunately, they usually don't have what I want in stock. They've recently added to what Canadians can purchase on Amazon.ca, but I double check prices - sometimes those secondary retailers are actually very expensive and often I can find the items on another website for less, so it pays to shop around.

Have used Amazon going on more than 5 years now, and it is definitely where I buy most of my music. I would prefer to go the record store route, but that just isn't a possibility nowadays. The Best Buys and Targets certainly do not have all of the music I am looking for. And while I do enjoy going to traditional record stores such as Amoeba Music -- especially for browsing vinyl -- even they aren't guaranteed to have everything I'm looking for, especially new releases.

I have found the customer service on Amazon to be excellent (items are always shipped expeditiously) and the pricing to be very competitive, and in some cases, better. I believe there was one case where I had a problem with an item that I ordered, and Amazon gave me a $5 free credit to their MP3 store.
