I agree, but am not sure what's in it for you, SJ. When Neal gets his way, fans end up with something like Hardline, Red 13, or SoulSirkus. That's fine by me, but don't you hate those albums?

I love Hardline & SS.....imagine those mixed with regular Journey. That would be sweet.

That's not info - that's speculation. It would be a sweet mix. We shall see.

This the way I see the new album sounding ... Neal making sure that his guitar leads and drives a lot of the songs (rather than Cain's keys), but you'll still have JC fighting to make sure the songs still have that very melodic element that typifies a Journey song. That combination and friction will result in a very hard, melodic edge to the songs, give them a a modern sound, yet still have the Journey stamp on them. Neal was very studious during their Revelation tours. He was looking for new ideas to add to his playing to give them an edgier sound. He also met up with Jeff Beck and Brian May. He was sober and I expect that whatever he came up will be absolutely spectacular. This album will be smoking. Bet the house.

Infinity is a great album. It would be very difficult to top Escape, Frontiers or Infinity. Not a HUGE fan of Departure.

The bolded songs represent the good songs, the songs left alone represent the mediocre songs and the italicized songs represent some of the most reprehensible music ever recorded. Just total fluff and shit.

I've got a good feeling about this one too. Unlike Generations, Neal actually gives a shit this time and has waaay more creative control than he did during Arrival.

Winds Of March has 2 things wrong with it. First, it takes far too long for the song to kick into gear and, secondly, it's a cover ... and covers are never as good as the originals according to Loondom ... or should I say Loondumb.

Wow if that's the case, Niel's band is nothing but a covers band now.

Journey singing Journey is always ok, and I have no problem with Perry doing the Fleishman tune. I was calling it a "cover" because Perry hijacked a writing credit. Shameless fucker. Personally, I don't like either version.

That's not a cover, you jackass. This was a live version that was never recorded for a studio release. It was eventually retooled and recorded. So was Wheel in the Sky and Feeling That Way. I guess Separate Ways was a cover too, since they played it in 82 before Frontiers came out., right? And there's probably about a thousand other 'popular' songs from different artists who have done the same.

I'm just highlighting the fact that the song was done long before Nostrildamus joined the band, but somehow he got a writing credit on the song ... and RF didn't. :?

Did RF contribute to the writing? There are some alterations between the live clip and the studio version, which is probably Nostrildamus' contributions. Damn, I actually called him Nostrildamus. Bastard!

I just want the drums to sound good - crisp crunchy snare, melodic toms, & powdery cymbals. I get so tired of wet thumpy cardboard that gets lost in the mix. I hope the overall sonic of this album is big & open, not overly processed & compressed. I don't care what the songs are, if it doesn't sound good, we'll lose interest really fast.

This one is interesting. If you look closely during the beginning of the song, you can clearly see Nostrildamus at the side of the stage with a lei around his neck.

If both can stay of the booze we can expect some great guitar playing !
