After seeing The American (George Clooney) last night, I have to add Violante Placido to that list. She was so incredibly charming with her accent, and gorgeous smile with the crooked little tooth.

I know it only got about a 65% approval rating, but I loved it. It's definitely not one of those thrill-a-minute films, and I can see how people would consider it too slow. I think it was all about trying to bring the viewer into his character's head and world so they could empathize with his life, and then feel the tension build from his point of view. I found myself thinking quite a bit while watching, and was just totally into it. It was kinda like an escape.
