"Yesterday we announced a number of dates for Def Leppard's 2011 summer tour with Heart (please note that we just updated the list and that a few more dates have been added). Of course, these are not ALL dates that make up the tour! More dates will be announced along the way, so don't be upset if your area is not included -- it may very well be soon enough!"

There's supposed to be 60 dates total so I'll update as they become available.

Starting the tour off in Florida with 2 dates in June no less. I guess Ann & Joe are planning on dropping about 10 pounds each to get the tour started off. I am huge Lep fan but unless I see a setlist of songs before hand, I'll pass.

I heard on the radio that they are to be in Des Moines in August for the Iowa State Fair.

Looks like Aug 24 is my day... that's a shame that Kansas bailed though. I like seeing Leppard lip it live. Heart is talented as fuck but I just don't have a ton of interest in their music to be honest.

You would think that all of this touring would be beneficial to Ann's physique but it doesn't seem to be the case. I'm worried about her blowing an artery on stage one of these days.

Actually, Ann is in very good shape these days, keeping in mind that she is 60 years old.

I am actually fresh from seeing Heart wrap up their Canadian tour (saw shows in Kamloops and Vancouver this weekend) and she was amazing, per usual. Her voice still has enough power to forcefully belt out all the notes on "Barracuda," while still being delicate to induce chills during "Alone" -- all the while, she moves just fine across the stage. After all, we're talking about singing, not the Olympics.

Still, I think you should be more worried about Joe Elliott. Speaking of physique, he isn't exactly in tip-top shape himself. And as much as I love Def Leppard (they dip between third and fourth on my favorite rock band list) and think Joe is a great frontman, in 2009 his vocals were more than rough around the edges. Unless he has found some sort of magic vocal elixir, I'd bet 2011 will be a little more of the same. (Of course, Joe has always had issues live....)

But despite any live vocal "enhancements" that Joe may employ -- the truth of the matter is he is going to get the "sugar" kicked out of him every which way on this tour, vocally. And Heart will be a tough band to follow and should give Leppard a run for their money. "Alone," "Crazy On You," "Barracuda" and "Magic Man" will bring down the house every night.

That said, it's going to be an awesome tour. Two great bands, lots of great music, lots of hits, lots of fun. I know I'll be catching the Southern California shows, and maybe Vegas.

And here's to hoping that Mutt Lange makes an appearance somewhere on the tour. Maybe a special performance with Ann and Joe on "All I Want To Do Is Make Love To You"... or not.

No kidding? Yes, the show was at the Interior Savings Centre.

I have always wanted to visit Canada and this seemed like a perfect opportunity, so I went for it. I am glad I did. The shows in Kamloops and Vancouver (the last two shows of their Canadian tour) were amazing, and to top it off I got to meet Ann and Nancy.

The latter show was like a hometown gig as Heart was essentially born in Vancouver, and that is where "Dreamboat Annie" was recorded. The audience reaction was amazing -- loudest I have heard at a Heart show in quite some time. The folks up there loved it.

I found the people to be very friendly up in your neck of the woods, with the exception of Canadian Border Services Agency officials. (They asked me, and I quote, "What are you doing up here?" I said, "Going to two concerts." To which the official responded, "What are you going to be doing at the concerts?" At that point, I wanted to reply with a smart ass remark, but decided to be wiser and just said, "Um...I'm going to be listening to music.")

It was freezing up there. It snowed on Saturday, just in time for my drive along Highway 1 to Vancouver. Even covered in snow, Vancouver was as beautiful as advertised.

I caught some video from my trip.... here is "Dreamboat Annie"from Vancouver.

That's got to be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard - what did they think you were going to say? Yeah, the weather wasn't great this past weekend - it's not usually quite that cold and miserable here by the end of February.

Glad you enjoyed the shows - nice video 8)
