Yes they have, and I love it! If they would JUST tour HERE!!!Gin and Tonic Sky wrote:I saw Europe in Bristol the other night. What a fantastic show. Its amazing how Europe can switch gears from that "final countdown/carrie" type material to its new harder rocking stuff off its its last album (last look at Eden). I know theres alot of debate about how Arnel and Journey can incorporate a new harder rocking sound from Eclipse into its set and remain relevant etc- Joey and Europe have already mastered it.

Agreed, just not SFTD.....horrible effort! LMAO

I'm not sure about your taste of music anymore. You might like Eclipse afterall![]()
SFTD was not a horrible effort. Now if you said Secret Society, I might understand better, because I didn't attach to as many songs. But even that was a good album. But SFTD is a great album. You need new earsS2M wrote:Melissa wrote:Hard to judge how amazing with that kind of recording (ha! lol) but sounds pretty good. Love Europe.

I love Talisman. Awesome bass driven music. Maybe it's too heavy for you? Same with Europe? And why you are against Eclipse? Maybe you should switch to grandpa musicS2M wrote:Behshad wrote:S2M wrote:Melissa wrote:Hard to judge how amazing with that kind of recording (ha! lol) but sounds pretty good. Love Europe.

Why don't YOU switch to new groups putting out good music instead of old groups trying to sound relevant?

Oh, so you've given up on Danger Danger then?

What correlation are you trying to draw...D2 is recording in the same style they always have(with Poley at the helm, that is)....they had some shaky albums(Dawn)....but overall I don't see a band trying to modernize their sound....

Nah, I like that album better than Secret Society by a long shot!

You can brag about your gigabytes & terabytes collection of music but what good is it when you don't enjoy what you're collecting. Just to say you own it ?! Or you downloaded it ?!
If you can't hear and realize the great quality of many Talisman songs , then you're not a true melodic rock fan buddy. You're pretty much stuck in late 70s without appreciating any bands trying something new. And Danger Danger ?!

Me too, but I do love Secret Society. Just not quite as much. And I am really, really disappointed that any plans for Europe to tour with Journey this year didn't come to fruition.
StevePerryHair wrote:ALL bands change their sound a little, each decade. I call it creativity. They aren't getting stuck in any one mold, and I don't see how that's bad. Though not a huge Beatles fan, look how they changed over the years. To me that is the sign of a great band. I love it. Maybe you just don't embrace change well? Get stuck in your ways? Even with music?
And maybe, just maybe, you DO listen to too many different things. And it has affected what you hear! I don't think I could possibly listen to that many artists consistently! And I love music!

Your musical credibility went out the window when you said Talisman songs lack hooks.I mean you have the rights to say you don't like their music but when you question the facts about their song structure , that right there shows what you're known for here : whining and bitching about anything and everything ( music / sports / movies /books ) just to get on peoples nerves. Aint gonna bother me one bit if you can't enjoy Talisman's music. I know I do and that's all that matters.
I think it's funny how someone like you , who requires catchy songs with hooks, listens to Gothard.

Mine too for m.r., but you have to understand there aren't many people (especially not in this thread, lol) who are going to know why or understand why. I followed that era very closely back then, when only things like Metal Edge magazine and a very few others like that were the only sources for news on those bands too. Then towards the later end of mid-90's even those mags pretty much gave up covering news on those bands, it was tough to find any way to follow them anymore back then. The internet was around, yeah, but nowhere near the source for bands and their news that it is now. But at that time from '89-'95 (even '87 & '88 too) I know what you mean and yes there were some great bands and great music, but towards the end of that time frame just so underground only people who followed it knew. And there's just no way you're going to get people only familiar with what was on the radio back then to recognize that there were some great bands, great musicians, and great music they missed out on. So might as well give upJust be thankful you know about it. I am, and love listening to all my music from back then, and hearing new stuff these bands still put out.

They don't regret it, it made them popular worldwide, but they'd rather play and write harder stuff anyday, especially with Norum as the guitarist.
