My gut is that Cain is going the way that Perry should have - move into production and get off the road. Yes, he'll still do Journey, when he can or as more of a writer/mentor, but Journey as a full time job will become a lesser interest. I mean, think about, as we all get older, priorities shift. He moved his family out of the Bay Area after 30 yrs. That says a lot. Grow your kids and stretch out into the business other than a primary touring player. Build your resume in the industry & relax on a broader scale. He can do it, and he deserves it. That's not to say retire Journey, as Perry has, it simply means to become a patriarch in the overall industry. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. In fact, it's very admirable.

Agreed. Paint Neal in any sort of negative money-grubbing light you want, I don't think he'd tour without Jon.

You may very well be correct, but I have to wonder. If Soul Sirkus had really taken off a few years back, would Neal have put Journey to bed? Or being the workaholic he is, would Neal work SS for two years the Journey for 2 and back and forth. All speculation, but it seemed at the time, had SS really been accepted by industry and the public, that was the direction that Neal was leading to.

I have wondered that a while about SS too.
