Westboro Baptist Church's Right To Picket Funerals Upheld!

The Supreme Court, in an 8-1 decision, ruled Wednesday that members of the renegade Westboro Baptist Church have a constitutionally protected right to protest military funerals even though their demonstrations are widely despised and deplored.




This is a great example of when the right to do something is not necessarily appropriate. Unfortunately, Fred Phelps and his twisted cult aren't going
anywhere soon. :twisted:

The court made the right decision. This will remain an issue that is divisive, and it's going to take new local laws to keep them at a distance.

Correct. As much as I hate those Westboro folks, they do have the right to do what they're doing.
