Fuckin' Charlie Sheen

General Intelligent Discussion & One Thread About That Buttknuckle

A few thoughts on this whole Sheen deal.

1. I think the entire thing is a work right now. It would not surprise me to see him starring in a sitcom on an opposing network later this fall or next yearor big budget movie. I think now that he's really just playing the whole thing off right now. If an opposing network is smart I'd be sending him ideas on a new show.

2. I'm surprised Cryer and the rest of the cast really hasn't said much about the whole thing. A simple "It's going to be very different on the set when we start filming new episodes when Charlie isn't there and he'll be missed for his sense of humor. I'd like to wish him the best of luck in the future. However, I'm excited about getting back to work on Men and seeing what the future holds." That would've been the perfect statement for Cryer. Personally I don't like to see Sheen lashing out at the dude, but let's be honest. Before Men Cryer hasn't really had any luck in the industry since Pretty in Pink.

3. Will Sheen be a success in a new role in a sitcom or back in the movies? He was great in 2.5 Men because of the excellent writing and because he really just had to be himself. When he took over the lead role in Spin City the sitcom bombed out after he joined. Sheen prior to 2.5 Men didn't really have any success in the industry since about 94. Will his new found following allow him to stay a big time actor, or will he fizzle out?

The only reason the studio fired him is to show him they can... because Sheen crossed the line, not only biting the hand that feeds him well... but also making himself uninsurable with his off-set lifestyle... JUST LIKE Lindsay Lohan... which is huge deal for the studios...

Charlie will be blackballed in Hollywood after this... until he cleans himself up... and even after that he's tainted goods... his "comeback" will have to have no skeletons or no studio will touch him..

He'll continue making money.. but it won't be as a result of his acting skill, instead it will be due to his new notoriety.... which will likely kill him before he can spend it all... nice legacy for his kids..

Gary is praying for Charlie.

Nobody is gonna insure Lohan until she gets clean... she even admitted so... and compared to Charlie, she's a friggin' NUN...

Charlie is not insurable right now... and until he proves otherwise by getting clean, to any studio... he's DONE.

some people don't quite grasp this, but I think you've got it here. Sad for all concerned.

Charlie Sheen: I Have a Michael J. Fox Clause!

Sources connected with Charlie tell us ... Charlie has what they call a "Michael J. Fox" clause in his contract. When Fox was doing "Spin City," his contract provided that he would keep getting paid as long as the show was in production, even if he left the show. Ironically, when Charlie took over for Michael, Michael kept drawing his salary.

Sources say when Charlie signed on for "Two and a Half Men" ... the original contract provided an identical clause, so Charlie's people believe Warner Bros. is on the hook if they keep producing the show.

Here's the rub. Warner Bros. claims they fired Charlie for cause, nullifying the contract.

These are the battles that keep lawyers employed.

WB says there is a clause in his contract saying they can fire a performer who commits "a felony offense involving moral turpitude."

The letter says, "There is ample evidence supporting Warner Bros. reasonable good faith opinion that Mr. Sheen has committed felony offenses involving moral turpitude (including but not limited to furnishing of cocaine to others as part of the self-destructive lifestyle he has described publicly) that have 'interfere[d] with his ability to fully and completely render all material services required' under the agreement."

In short, that's why Charlie was fired.

Charlie's lawyer, Marty Singer, has demanded Warner Bros. pay Charlie for the eight canceled episodes -- or else.

Warner Bros. seems undaunted by the threat, even reserving its right to take legal action against Charlie.

Good for Cryer - why should he?!!!!

Exactly. And I very much respect the man for staying quiet and staying out of it. Or at least not being public about whatever is that's going on behind the show scenes. Would any of us even know (or care) whether Jon Cryer has been in touch with him if Chuck wasn't reporting this to us?

Charlie wants attention, and he wants everyone to be on his side. Seen this behavior a lot. Chuck wants to run interference, rally his troops, have everyone support him, spin his tale the way he wants it spun, whether it's what actually went on or not... this is the equivalent of a snotty little kid saying something bad about another kid just to make people like them over the other kid. He's sure spending a lot of time screaming to anyone who will listen about all this just to make others look bad. Who are the ones staying quiet - the people he's claiming have done all 'these' bad things... the show execs, Lorre... now Cryer. That says a LOT. I'm sure they all see his behavior and realize they don't need to say anything... he's slowly and surely burning his own house down.

Exactly. I've searched to see if there has been ANY reply from Cryer or his peeps. I can't find a single word. He's in a position right now where no words are the best words. Eventually I am sure he will be in a position where someone asks him about it (in public) and he will be in a spot where he needs to acknowledge the question/situation, and I predict he will reply with class.

Charlie wants attention and his way of getting it is to be a big loud asshole about it and try to make those around him that he's upset with look bad even if he has to lie about it. He's the classic self-made victim. "Poor me, poor me..." He's made an assumption about Cryer and has decided to tear him down over it. Is this high school?

Haven't seen it... will go back and watch the clip when I'm not in my office... but the statements Charlie made about Jon came out yesterday, or at least that was the first I saw of it... so I searched to see if Jon has replied to all that in any way, and I couldn't find a thing. If I'm wrong on that, then ooops, my bad. (that's why I always search before I speak! lol)

He doesn't really say anything about the situation in that clip. It just shows him taking a temp job answering phones/reception desk at 'Ellen'. Lol, she thanks him for doing a job of 2 1/2 men.

Live Nation Names Irving Azoff Chairman

Published: February 07, 2011 By Brent LangLiberty Media

CEO Irving Azoff has been named chairman of Live Nation, the entertainment company announced on Monday.

In addition, Live Nation acquired the remaining equity stake in Front Line Management Group from Azoff and Madison Square Garden for $116.2 million in cash and stock.

The blunt-spoken Azoff has made waves in recent months for his Twitter battles with the likes of Perez Hilton and micro-blogged broadsides against online piracy.

Azoff will replace interim chairman John Malone. His appointment could bring stability to a board of directors that has been riled by infighting for much of the past year. Malone was brought on board as a temporary stop-gap after former chairman Barry Diller resigned from the post last fall after feuding with board members Ari Emanuel and Mark Shapiro.

The cash portion of the transaction totaled $56.5 million and was funded with cash on hand. The remaining $59.7 million was paid with newly-issued shares of Live Nation common stock.

Of the total shares issued, Azoff receives 1.8 million shares of common stock and Madison Square Garden received 3.9 million shares of common stock.

"Through this transaction we will further simplify and consolidate our operating structure," Michael Rapino, president and chief executive officer of Live Nation, said in a statement. "By acquiring full ownership of Front Line, we expect to benefit from substantial savings related to cash taxes, the elimination of the dividend and operating synergies resulting in an increase in our free cash flow in excess of $20 million annually. Front Line is a tremendous asset and a key component of our live entertainment and marketing platform. We look forward to Irving's ongoing contributions as we continue to focus on increasing the growth potential of our combined operations."

In addition, Greg Maffei, chief executive officer of Liberty Media Corporation, has joined the board and has been named chairman of the company’s newly-formed Executive Committee.

And today, the pendulum swings back - well, halfway at least ...

"Charlie Sheen returned to the air waves Wednesday morning, granting two radio interviews.

(shocking )

He talked to Los Angeles radio station K-Earth 101, where he apologized to Jon Cryer for calling him a "troll."

"I was in a mood, and I threw that out there..." Sheen said. "It's a half apology -- it's an apol!"
