This is probably heresy for a UNC fan to say, but Coach K is one of the best coaches ever, and has taken more abuse from opposing fanbases than he probably deserves. Sure, he's had a few classless jerks over the years to wear the Duke uniform which is where I think a lot of the hatred has come from, but you don't get as successful as he has been without being REALLY good at your job.

Despite the prevailing trend these days, I have always thought the requirements for a college basketball coach are to run a clean program, win and graduate players.

I never thought Duke was the best team this year, but they looked really good at times and had as good of a chance as any because EVERY team had major flaws. Just another symptom of the decline of college basketball. It will be interesting to see who wins this thing now, as I'm not convinced the dominoes have stopped falling just yet. At the rate it's going, it may be the year a mid-major wins it, as all it will take are a couple of superpowers to have an off night.

I'd like to know who these 'classless' players are.....myself? I think all the players that left early are in a way, classless.....Brand. Maggete. Deng. McRoberts. Avery. Duke should have 4 more championships than they do.

I would say Laettner with the UK stomp ranks right up there, even though he was very good at the game itself. Probably the one player where the Duke hate/backlash started.

Honestly, I think the main reason that Krzyzewski has had as much success as he has had is because he rarely has players leave early. Pure talent only gets you so far. After that, experience becomes the defining factor because older teams tend not to defeat themselves like the young teams do.

current belief is that Marshall is going to stay a while, for if no other reason than he isn't a Ty Lawson/John Wall type of lightning-fast, scoring point guard. The fact that he is a MAJOR UNC fan from growing up probably helps us for at least a year or two.

I'm more worried about Barnes, and to a lesser extent, Henson moreso than Marshall. Both of those have the potential the NBA likes, even though Henson really needs at least one more year to bulk up and improve his shooting. Barnes is carrying UNC right now though, so he's the one I'm worried about.

I'd like to see Barnes and Irving return, and the fact that they went to UNC and Duke instead of some other places (cough, UK, cough) makes me wonder. Barnes has said he wants to get a degree, both it's hard to pass up that kind of money. I'll be very worried if UNC gets to the Final Four, but I think that is very doubtful. We'll see what happens. If there are mass defections on both sides with graduation/draft, both teams will be young next year. If not, UNC will be very dangerous next year, and Duke will be Duke. Still think Duke needs a low post presence (which might be solved if Plumlee makes another big leap over the summer) to be really championship caliber.

I just DUKED in my pants BABY!!!!!

I just saw Duke Vitale on SportCenter this morning, his eyes were very red and on the verge of tears. Everytime Duke was mentioned he let the tears role and started to break down .

PRICELESS! :)

S2M, how can you of all people who are DUKE fans, COMPLAIN about the officials when DUKE has benefitted the MOST IN THE HISTORY OF COLLEGE BASKETBALL

in that department!!!!! Hell, your illustrious coach K has been KNOWN to make one phone call and get an NCAA Ref, GONE BABY GONE!. The NCAA selection

committee has also, and you take a look at the brackets from years past, given the blue babies the easiest route to the final four! Now getting back to the game

cause nothing is more spectacular than watching YOUR beloved coach "K" cry like the little biotch he is, fuck, it's one the happiest moments in sports if you ask

me! The fouls that they called on Smith & Singler were fouls. Singler, with all his flopping should have had more. You cannot get up into an opposing players

space, you have to allow for a step, just like a charging call. He wants to get right up into their jockstrap & then flop backwards when he takes an elbow to the

chin. I agree with 7. I have been watching college basketball for fucking forever. Ask any hoops fan, ANY in the fucking whole united states of america, the one

team that benefits from the referring in games, would be Duke. Only Duke Vitale would disagree, I'm sure of it. And Arizona just didn't win the game, they

fucking destroyed Duke. And what happened to Duke's rotation? You think your illustrious coach "k" made a mistake in not getting his guys out there like he

usually does; I'm talking about Curry, Dawkins, and Kelly. You can't get away from what's been getting you there when you get down by 6. And do NOT tell

me it was because Kyrie Irving was back, you cannot sit this guy, he's the ONLY future pro on this team. When Duke started getting behind coach "k" became

a little bitch and started whining & complaining to the officials in his last desperate gambit (instead of coaching). So, INCLUDING the first half, they called a foul

on Arizona everytime (And I mean EVERYTIME) they'd knock the ball out of Irving's hands, and then not on Singler when williams was driving to the hole on a

breakaway with about 6 minutes left? WTF? I know, in your opinion, that wasn't a foul! Hell, how could it possibly could be, Duke doesn't foul! Coach "k" make

the CALL! LOL! Coach "K" looked like the fucking carrot from veggie tales after the game!

First of all, it is No Surprize that you would think that way....IMHO, a person that hates something is 10x more biased than one who likes something(or it's a favorite). Due, in part, to you being a lemming of the mainstream media, and the various trolls that love to be jealous of Duke. FOUR fucking National Championships....roll that around on your lips for awhile....that is once you take them from around the collective cocks of Troll nation.

People get tired of anty team that is successful for a long time. It happened with the 1996-2000 NY Yankees. It happened to the Red Wings, and Penquins. It happened to the NE Patriots, and it happened to the Chicago Bulls....people want different teams to be champs.

The only reason you are saying that Duke's had easy brackets is because you are regurgitating what other people have claimed(reads: other trolls). You have not an original thought in your post. The same talking heads that claim Krzyzewski pays refs off, and whatnot. 900 wins. How does that taste?

I've seen Duke get trounced by a Jason Kidd led Cal team, when Cherokee Parks was hurt. I've seen Scottie Thurman bury a lucky 3 from the corner to beat us in the championship game. I've seen Khalid El Amin have the game of his MF-ing life in 1999 to beat us in the Final game. And I've seen Emeka Okefor literally rape JJ Redick in the finals seconds of the final game in '04. A game mind you where Okefor had 4 fouls in the first half, and never got another whistle the whole 2nd half. You want to talk about someone paying the refs off? Jim Calhoun anyone?

So you just sit there in the Okeefanokee swamp until the next episode of Swamp People airs.....I'll be watching. and until then, learn a thing or two about the game of basketball....

Little osu still can't play with the big boys wether it's basketball or football. Now, there's no little ten left, not surprising. 2 SEC schools in the Elite 8, most of

any conference. Damn, my beloved Marquette Warriors couldn't throw the motherfucking ball in the ocean if standing 3 feet from it, horrible shooting, no assists

at all in the first half, pathetic. VCU, you got lucky, your luck will run it's course this week-end, Richmond's waiting on you!

Dear Michigan Wolfgirl,

You can comment when Michigan becomes relevant again in the world of college sports, which it won't be for a long ass time. So until then, keep just keep

staring at that life-size fat-head of Timmy and keep dreaming of what might have been!

Damn. I was pulling for Butler, but that was a PUTRID national championship game. 18.8 fg percentage for Butler, lowest ever. UCOnn, 53 points, lowest point total for the winner since 1949. I woulda rather watched the WNCAA tonight. Awful waste of my time and 6 perfectly good beers I coulda used for a legitimate sports occasion.

I got my undergraduate degree from UConn, but I have to admit, this title is rather tainted. Trust me, Calhoun has been way over the line for the past 20 years. I've heard they threw a shitload of evidence under the bus because the NCAA can't afford to give the Huskies the Death Penalty.

This one isn't very sweet. I have a feeling it could have an asterisk next to it someday,

This was the very 1st National title game in College Basketball that I couldn't bear to watch past the half. Both teams had a very hard time of putting up points.

This was from some great "D" and some horrible shooting & missed opportunities. I was hoping for a Butler win. By the way, did anyone see that Shaka Smart

got a new 8 year deal from VCU. His salary went from the 3's to the million club.
