I played that piece of shit all the way through....twice.

S2M posts degrading bands like Journey, but then you have to listen to the crap he thinks is good music. :P

Got something to say about the new Whitesnake, or are you just stalking me again?

I don't have the new Whitesnake so the only thing I can comment on are some of your comments. How's that, Sparkie? :P

I'm really diggin' the samples that I've heard so far and have the album on pre-order. I can't wait to see Whitesnake in May at the M3 Festival. Also really liking the new Mr. Big as well! It's been in my car CD player since I got it. It's great that so many 80's bands are making a comeback. Makes me feel young again!!

I have to agree. The last record Good To Be Bad, was REALLY good as well, but I think Forevermore is going to be a better record over all.
I think DC may have the thought in the back of his mind that this may actually be THE FINAL WS record.
Just the title of the record, plus a song tittle and the lyrics alone to "Fare Thee Well", make me think the same thing.

I hope not. I have seen this line up live, and it is actually better the "WS heyday" line up live.

I will be seeing them at the M3 Festival, and man am I PSYCHED!!!!

Me too! If I wasn't already going to MB's very first gig, I would definitely look into going to that M3 Festival. Mr Big, Whitesnake, Tesla, lots more..........that one's going to ROCK bigtime! LOL Pam, that cd's been seriously stuck in my car cd player too, hahaha caught myself speeding a few times now, find it really hard to drive at a slow rate of speed during American Beauty.

Overall, I really like this album. The first few tracks really grab me. to me though, the second half of this album doesn't grab my attention nearly as much. In all fairness and honesty, I haven't let all of the tracks play through from beginning to end. Some of the songs had either a country twang that I didn't care for, or sounded a little too generic for me to really get into on the first flip-through.

One thing I learned on the "Good To Be Bad" album, was that some of those songs had to grow on me as well. I'm sure after I give this some real spins, I'll get into more of the songs.

So far, my top picks for the album are:

1. Steal Your Heart Away- Straight-up rocker that kicks you in the face!

2. All Out Of Luck- See above.

3. Love Will Set You Free- One of the strongest songs off of the album with strong, soaring melodies along with amazing guitar hooks.

4. Easier Said Than Done- Slower ballad that is a typical, soft, melodic Whitesnake ballad that's easy on the ears. DC is amazing on this song! :)

5. Forevermore- the title track, and to me, it's my favorite song of the entire album. VERY classic Whitesnake/bluesy sound. It's got some of the best acoustic guitars I can recall hearing in the last few years, and the vocals here find David at his absolute best on this album! This song reminds me of "Sailing Ships". but then it takes a left turn at the end with some amazing guitar solos and a cool middle eastern vibe going!!! :D

I really like this album, but so far, I think "Good To Be Bad" was a little stronger album overall. I think they could have cut a couple of these songs off of the album, and they wouldn't have been missed. Overall though, it's a strong album!

Haha, look at Revelation's album score. With all the praise we have been hearing, we KNOW that Eclipse has to score higher than that so there's not going to be a lot of room for anyone else.

Well, I don't buy the fact that because the name on the album says Journey, that that automatically means that it is destined for AOTY....believe me, the praise is misplaced....

:D :D :D

Dude, you do make me laugh. Seriously. Now I know to take most of your posts with a laugh, I can appreciate them more.

For the record - JRNY have NEVER been awarded Album Of The Year here. Not even for Revelation.

Secondly - you are comparing a full album that's been leaked to you with a 30 SECOND CLIP of ONE song and declaring the winner based on that? Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahha.

Keep it coming mate. Keep it coming! :P :P :P

He decided he wasn't going to like Eclipse before he even found out it was going to be called "Eclipse".

I laugh my ass off at most of his post....Very predictable....Like a game show almost...You can sit back, read a new thread with a posted link to a song, and guess what his response will be...

Some of my favorites include :

"Nothing special"

"horrible"

"nothing original"

"well if you like that, then try this (insert link of band no one have ever heard of)"

Just goes to show the Brits at least know what good music is!!!

Whitesnake outselling Britney Spears
Posted Fri 25 Mar 2011 11:26 GMT by Ben Arnold in Pop Gossip
80s hair metallers Whitesnake are set to scupper Britney Spears' comeback.

The band's 11th album 'Forevermore' has so-far received 35% more pre-orders on Amazon.co.uk than Britney's latest, 'Femme Fatale'.

A spokesperson for Amazon said: "Britney Spears is one of the most successful global pop acts with a career spanning more than ten years but, even with this pedigree, she is being overshadowed and outsold by the elder statesmen of British rock.

"Whitesnake were already releasing their fourth album in 1981, the year Britney was born, and it is a major achievement to be racking up more pre-orders than the pop princess."

'Femme Fatale' is due out this Monday (March 28), with 'Forevermore' following on April 18. [The Sun]

WHITESNAKE's 'Forevermore' Cracks U.S. Top 50 - Apr. 6, 2011

WHITESNAKE's new album, "Forevermore", sold around 12,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 49 on The Billboard 200 chart.

The effort, which came out in North America on March 29 via Frontiers Records, was made available in four different configurations.

By comparison, "Good To Be Bad" debuted at No. 62, which was Whitesnake's highest-charting album since "Slip of the Tongue" (No. 10) in 1989.
