I cant believe Im gonna agree with you on this one. No surprise here to see this Journey-influenced board picking Journey members as favorite musicans, but when you look at the big picture , theyre good as a BAND , but each and every one of the band members in Journey, as individual musicans, are average AT BEST !

You consider Neal an average musician, his solo work average? I think a lot of people on here would disagree, musicians included on here.

Yes, a lot of people here would disagree , cause as I said this is a Journey-influenced board. His solo projects are average , if you ask real musicians  You're biased and you know it. :)

Simple answer to your question is: your pattern of " This sucks, that sucks, I havent even heard it but I know it will fail"-attitude, combined with mentioning a dozen of average bands, stating theyre better than any other bands people discuss here ,ONLY because they havent heard of "your" bands. 8)

Hmmm....I never said any bands were better than any other bands. All I said was that just because people haven't heard of a band, doesn't mean they suck. Also that people equate popular with good. A lot of bands have help getting famous. It's timing, and who you know. Or who you steal songs from(in the case of Jon and Ritchie). Personally, I'm tired of people claiming that the ones that came before where better. When they only thing in their favor was being born first. THAT'S what I said, B....you would suck ass as an attorney.

What the fuck are you yapping about? "Average at best? Just ask real musicians?"

Hahaha. Okay, Ross and Castronovo doesn't give many stars from me either, but Cain has written some of the greatest pieces in 80'ies rock music and has sold 160 million albums with Journey. Neal was recruited to join Santana at 17, and that was after he said no to Eric Clapton and Cream. Is that average to you? As usual, you show you're completely void of reason and logic.

Oh, but the real musicians down at the karaoke bar agrees with you! Guys will agree and say almost anything when a blowjob is offered.

See, this is the kind of list you'd like to see in Rolling Stone magazine....but you don't!

Someone asked me once who I thought was the better drummer between Steve Smith and Jeff Porcaro - there wasn't an easy answer.

Props for the listing of drummers in the last 20 years who have been relevant and among the best...

Vinnie Colaiuta, Steve Smith, Jeff Porcaro, Simon Phillips, Phil Collins, Stewart Copeland, Neal Peart....gods among men

Oh - and to answer the poll - I'm kinda partial to Lars Ulrich.

John Bonham...just listen to Moby Dick. End of discussion. And why the hell isn't Keith Moon on this list?

Bingo. Nothing like him.

No offense, but I listen to ToTo, and I find nothing special. Same with Luke. Not exactly a guitar driven band. Maybe his solo stuff, but wow. I couldn't pick Porcaro or Lukather out in a song if my life depended on it....

That's why they are hired in the first place. They don't take over a record, they help bring out the best in them.
