Graduating from Windows 95 is a bitch!

Postby steveo777 » Tue Mar 29, 2011 4:28 pm

I just updated my Dad's computer. That upgrade ultimately required putting his computer next to the garbage can.
The solution was a new Dell laptop and a 800 number, instead of me, that he can call for the next year, in case he fucks up.
I have been liberated!

I believed that to be true with my dad, two PC's and two laptops ago. Good luck pal!

Your dad has new things to learn, to try, to screw up. And he knows just the guy that can help him. Best of luck in your search from freedom. I live in your hell daily.

Tell me - why does a 77 year old man need to convert movies to DVD, buy hardware to hook his TV up to the damn thing, help the entire senior neighborhood in rebuilding their machines? Shouldn't he just golf and relax? But I guess when you have your own tech support, you can tackle anything!

When I was a kid and my parents were divorcing, I used to forget my lunch every day and my mom would have to bring it to me. They finally figured out that I was doing it on purpose just to get her there. I firmly believe my dad now invents issues with his computer/tech stuff just to talk to me 5 times a day.
