Albums that you looked most forward to?

Postby Journey/Survivor » Thu Mar 31, 2011 7:37 am

What are some of the albums that you looked the most forward to leading up to their release.

I'm dying to hear Journey's Eclipse. It has to be one of the albums that I've looked the most forward to before it's release.

Some of my others are....

Survivor's "Too Hot To Sleep"
Journey's "Trial By Fire"
Bad English's "Bad English"

There have been countless others, of course. But those are a few of my absolute top albums that I was dying to be released.

Try not to make your list too long. Maybe 3 to 5 albums.

There are waaaaayyyy too many to count, and needless to say
every Journey LP after SP's addition ...ESPECIALLY TBF, for some reason!!

But the one LP that I can remember dying to get my hands on
and had to wait because they sold out everywhere ...Hi In Fi!
Why?!? I can't remember, but I have it in vinyl, 8~track, cassette and
a couple of cd's ...did they make it in VHS?!?!
Still just love it!!

Journey - Arrival....too long, but good
Survivor - Reach....started off good, and went downhill
Magnum - Breath of Life....better than Hard Rain. Decent, not classic.
Gotthard - Domino Effect.....yes, very good
Phil Collins - Testify....hit and miss
Strangeways - Perfect World...average with a horrible production
Two Fires - S/T...very underwhelming after The Storm
Unruly Child - Worlds Collide....decent songs in need of a decent chorus
Thunder - The Magnificent Seventh...lived up to expectations
Giant - III / Promise Land...disappointing on various levels
John Farnham - Jack....not exactly the style expected
Jimmy Barnes - Rage and Ruin....yes. very good.

Ace Frehley - Anomaly

Love his solo work sans Second Sighting. Anomaly was strong in parts.

"Reach" is also on my list. It might have been up there with "Too Hot To Sleep" as an album that I was most looking forward to, but I knew in advance that it wasn't going to Rock nearly enough, so that slightly lowered my excitement about it's release. I knew that THTS was going to Rock before it was released. For over a month before THTS was released it was just about the only thing that I was thinking about.

I wanted to keep my list relatively short, so I only named a few to begin with.

Some of my others are.....

Survivor's "Reach"
Jimi Jamison's "Crossroads Moment"
Jimi Jamison's "Empires"
Jimi Jamison's "When Love Comes Down"
Journey's "Arrival"
Journey's "Generations"
Journey's "Revelation
Bad English's "Backlash"
The Storm's S/T
The Storm's "Eye Of The Storm"
Steve Perry's "For The Love Of Strange Medicine"
Hardline's "Double Eclipse"
Soul Sirkus' "World Play"

All of Neal Schon's solo albums.

Def Leppard "Histeria"
Steve Perry "For The Love Of Strange Medicine"
Europe "Out Of This World"

to name a few. I was also pumped about Whitesnake's "Forevermore", and LOVE the album. :D I'm also stoked about "Eclipse" which isn't even something I was really looking forward to until just recently. Andrew better be right, or he's gonna get a good beat-down!

Oh yeah, and I'm pumped now about the new W.O.A. album, as well as the new Mike And The Mechanics album. I really like what I've heard of it so far. :D

Me too!!! Really looked forward to that one. I was disappointed in Walk On, only that Delp didn't sing on it. There's not much about Corporate America that I care for, just a couple of songs.

I always looked forward to each Van Halen release, and was especially curious about 5150, to see how Sammy sounded singing for them.

I've never been a GNR fan. Was their CD album a huge disappointment? What was different about it compared to their other albums?

The only way Axl and Slash will reunite is if they share the same grave....

see, I never even knew THTS existed until long after the fact. For Reach, it's not the rocking (or lack thereof) that I have a problem. It's the strength of songs, considering all the stuff that had surfaced either live or on that demos cd that was better than what made the official cd. There were enough songs to make a good cd, and they somehow missed the boat.

i've read where if they get inducted into the rock hall of fame they could end up all sharing the stage.also i think before its all over with the lure of a quarter billion dollars to reunite will be too hard to resist.money has been known to make hell freeze over.the eagles swore they would never do it again but did after 15 years and they shot right back to the top of the charts and sold out tons of shows too.i think that guns will eventually put aside a lot of differences once some serious money starts flowing.

there are only two shows i am ever interested in attending in the future.one is a journey reunion and the other is a guns n roses.either one of those reunites and i'm there. :D
