Another song that could have been a Journey song. (Kinda like Lonestar's 'Amazed'.)
It's got some pop hooks, and decent guitar, could have been something off Escape or Frontiers.

A lot more overlap here between AOR and this band than you might think... GREAT band.

Good stuff! I used to listen to them all the time. I'm gonna have to fire some of that up.

Ah-ha. That would explain where all the songwriters have gone.

I like country music. I don't claim to be huge fan, but I have immense respect for the genre. Country music, IMHO, is the last bastion for the craft of great song writing. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that many songwriters have flocked to Nashville to ply their craft. This whole nonsensical notion that artists MUST write their own songs (no matter how incompetent and drug addled they are) in order to be relevant has probably not left much on the table for songwriters in LA.

Country music, whether you like it, or whether you don't, tells great stories.

I've always liked Southern Rock. Poco, Firefall, Marshall Tucker Band, a Vince Gill fronted Pure Prairie League. For regular country, I'm old school with Charlie Rich, Conway Twitty, Barbara Mandrell, etc.

I do like Carrie Underwood and think she's the best thing to ever come out of American Idol, even more so than Daughtry.
