I liked Naima best this week.

And I was very surprised they used their 'save' option so early in the contest!

Two go home next week because of it.

Wonder which two?
What if one of them is Casey.

I like the MAD Magazine reference pertaining to Scotty. I told my wife he looks like a young George W. Bush.

  That is TOO funny, I just said that to a friend the other day! I know alot of people like Scotty and Paul, but I'm not much of a fan of either. I like a little versitility, and with Scotty that is all it's gonna be. LOL everything sang with a country twang....mind you, I'm not big into country either though. And Paul's voice I find very weak, I like his tone, but IMO there is just no power there.

Scotty, is country that is who he is.That boy is going somewhere in biz.I would love to see James win.

Tonight did it. I'm done with this show. Paul survived, but Thia is gone?! Whatever.....

Paul sings as if he has an oxygen tank strapped to his back due to Emphysema.

That's the second time Thia got bounced, first from America's Got Talent, now here. Her problem is she has, what I call a pleasant voice; Great for lounge singing and Karaoke at the restaurant but not exactly inspiring when there's a million dollar recording contract on the line.

I am SO bored with this now.

Can't they eliminate two of 'em every week to make it end sooner?

I didn't enjoy any of them this week.

Maybe screaming rock guy was ok, but I am seriously bored with them all.

I'd rather watch Kirstie Alley on Dancing With The Stars.

Me too - although I am kind of warming up to Heinz Ward  . Did you see Kirstie fall on top of Maks last nite? That had to hurt! But they got back up and did great - she's a natural dancer. Love Ralph - couldn't believe when I heard he was 49  - seems like the Karate Kid was just yesterday!

Scotty has a good country voice, but for me that's all it is, no versatility there. I am sooo am not getting the Paul thing, LOL cute smile maybe, but does absolutely nadda for me, vocally. I find his voice VERY weak, no power/passion, etc to it at all? :?

James Durbin is the only one that grabs my attention. Paul is weird and can't sing, Pia bores the crap outta me (I can't stand it when those female singers do what I call the pee-pee dance  - and she does that when she's not singing a ballad), Scotty is a cutie but still one-dimensional despite what the judges said last night. Casey has some potential, but I think James should be the winner. The rest - nah.

That's obviously what the rest of the ladies thought too, so they voted off Pia - who is 10 times the singer that pretty boy Paul is.

It's not a singing contest like they boast... it's a popularity contest - period.

Popularity contest, no doubt.. I expected her to stick around for quite awhile.. maybe the top 3. :?

I think her downfall was singing just ballads and not bringing enough "personality" to the stage.

James Durbin is a humble and talented young man with a lot of potential. Therefore I hope he does NOT win the title of American Idol  . Here's a cool clip of him with Alan Parsons:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igvibmi202k

Even though I wasn't a fan, Pia probably shouldn't have been the one to go last night. She's certainly a better singer that most of those remaining. Whoever asked 'is this a popularity contest?' - of course it is. Randy was saying last night how mad he was that she was voted off, and in the same breath encouraged fans to vote for their favorite so they wouldn't be the next to go. They (judges, Seacrest) never tell people to vote for the best singer. And finally - I like Steven Tyler and all but he is way too complimentary to everyone.

I didn't want to admit it, but AI has stopped being a singing competition for the last 3 seasons and last night's show wipes away any denial I had left. Pia was the "whole package" as they so often comment and yet bye bye she went. Very, very disappointed just like I am with so many of America's choices in music. Can somebody PLEASE vote out Haley...I just can't stand her voice or performing style, plus she was the only one with a big grin when poor Pia was eliminated  Also, Paul and Casey have horrible vocals IMO

I've watched all the seasons...and I gotta say that the best talent to come out of that show was Carrie Underwood. But she got better since the show. The 2 best talents during the show were Melinda Doolittle, and Crystal Bowersox. I'm not even so sure that the fans really choose the winner. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that there is some hanky panky going on behind the scenes....

Yea, I agree with your post...I'm also suspicious about hanky panky now, especially when I think about Chris Allen over Adam Lambert, Lee Dewieze over Crystal Bowersox and now Pia :?
