Politically Correctness

Postby S2M » Tue Apr 05, 2011 4:35 am

What say you? Serious discussion, please...

I thought about this, partly, wondering when and if to include a neutralizing 'smiley' emoticon in a negative post. Whereas the smiley would lessen the blow of my comment, it really wouldn't best describe my actual sentiment....and then that led to asking about PC-ness.

its bad when try to ban santa claus because it might offend someone.

also the blacks have had 40 years now to...well its not right that a smarter white kid does not get to go to a college because they have to fill a quota so they stick a less smarter minority in the kids place.

Using the smiley/winky (my personal fav) as a deterrent when you really
are joking is ok ...but when one is accusing another of something serious
and then using the laughy and winky, I ignore it ...it makes no sense. That
person is an idiot!! How would you neutralize a smiley, with a little botox injection
syringe poking out of his little head?!?

PC?!?! ...way overrated and overused ...Merry Christmas!!

forget offended, how about confused.

The Raleigh Christmas Parade last year banned Mrs. Claus because someone thought the children would be confused seeing two people in red suits.

Political correctness drive me CRAZY!!!!!! I remember getting corrected one day when I called someone a "janitor". Some asshole corrected me, telling me that he is "sanitation engineer" or some shit. I've noticed schools don't call the holidays "Christmas vacation" anymore either, now they call it "winter break". :?

When childrens sports games aren't allowed to be scored anymore because "they're ALL winners", we're at a ridiculous place. How are they going to learn that hard work and practice makes you successful? I will say though, that the parents at some of these games need their teeth knocked in for their behavior, and I've had words with a few of them over the years! :?

Also, the "Happy Holidays" blows me away as well. 95% of society have no problem with "Merry Christmas" at CHRISTmas time, but the 5% that do, get with the American Communist Lawyers Union and stores are frightened into changing it. I wish every one of those fuckers would start burning qurans in the streets of all of the middle eastern cities. We'd all be better off.

Ok, on second thought... that's a little harsh, and out of line. I really wish that we could just have an island that they could all go to for a permanent vacation. How's that? :D

They want merry christmas changed because it offends them but these idiots forget that about the fact that changing it happy holidays offends the 95% of us who prefer the original.

Glad to see it's 100% yes so far, lol.

And Jim the sports parents stuff, oh my gosh you got that right! My son has only played soccer so far (can it you soccer haters and stuff one of those egg-shaped balls up your @ss  ) and I've always been very amused at some of the parents' absolutely ridiculous behavior. I've heard kids' softball or baseball is even worse.

There was one game last year when my son was still only 8 and one kid on his team got hit in the nose with the ball and started bleeding right away. Another kid from the other team laughed in his face, so the kid hit in the nose kicked him  So this always loud and obnoxious dad from the other team sitting next to me yells "Take that kid out for poor sportsmanship!". I couldn't help myself and said loud enough for him to hear "Well the kid laughing in his face while he bleeds isn't any better sportsmanship." So this dad looks at me and says "That's my son." Now I'm alone at this game since my husband was out of town, and the other parents around us are watching at this point, and I'm thinking I'm about to get my ass chewed out by this big-headed moron, but I look over at this guy with my sunglasses on and a half smart ass smile and say "Really?" And he says "You're right, that is crappy sportsmanship too and I will have a talk with him." And from that point on that guy made it a point to say hello to me and be as nice as pie  I figured I guess it was embarassing to him or something, I don't know, but it was quite amusing  But yes, that is so true, people are starting them young on the path to liberalism by trying to make them all winners no matter what, so why should they bother working any harder right?

That's ridiculous. :? I'm all for letting your children express themselves to a point, but that's just plain dumb. Was it the child's idea, or the dad's? My son used to play with the big G.I. Joe's, and one day when we were at the store, he had a FIT for us to get him a Barbie so that his G.I. Joe could have a wife. I never bought him that damn thing, and he got over it. Just sayin'!

Football players have to wear tights to move faster. If you had a 300 lb refrigerator coming at you at full speed would you want tights or big baggy shorts.
