I loved the team as a whole ...Bill is the man!! I was sad
about the DR trade immediately following the 1st championship ...
sadly, I didn't follow his career as much after that, he seemed more
of an attention whore than a B~ball star!!
I'm pretty sure the last time I saw him was on Celebrity Rehab ...I am thrilled
for him, though!!

Two time NBA Defensive Player of the Year
Five NBA Championships with 2 different teams
Led the league in rebounds per game for 7 straight years
Named to 7 NBA all defensive first teams
Two All-Star games

What else do you want?? :?

All-Star games are worthless popularity contests.
Kurt Rambis, Greg Kite, and jerry Sichting have NBA championships....
A plyer needs to DOMINATE his position in order to be a HOFer.
Pistons were a great defensive team all-around. If he didn't have Joe Dumars on the team(who is 10X the defensive player) he'd be a footnote.

The Worm was a role player. Role players do not deserve the Hall....IMHO.

lol ...you hated them if they weren't your team!!
The BB definitely left an impression!! I agree w/the importance of JoeD, as well!!
What I love about the Piston team is that it's never been about stars, therefore,
all members were equally fabulous and everyone had different favorites!!

When Rodman was with the Bulls he very well DID dominate rebounds. Nobody was better at that time. He was a contributing factor to the Bulls success.

EXACTLY. he was not just a role player, he was dominate, he played his ass off, to look at his rebounding
numbers and say he was dominate at his position is ludicrous...

Rodman NEVER dominated his position ... not ever. Rebounding isn't a fucking position! I'm quite sure that many other players could have replicated his stats if they spent zero time working on their offensive post game, free throw shooting and perimter shooting. Rodman was a great, great defensive player and rebounder, but you would think the HOF would mandate some semblance of an offensive game to be inducted. Who's next ... Mark Price because he was an awesome free throw shooter?!? Anyone that thinks Dennis Rodman is a legit NBA Hall Of Famer needs their fucking head smashed in a la Reginald Denny.

I liken Rodman more to that of KISS.

KISS never really were any truly great musicians. They were all about the show, and some of their songs happened to come about at the right time. They did change the music scene. They were the Beatles on 'kabuki pyro steriods'. And their individual infamy made them icons. That considered, Dennis Rodman did a lot for the NBA...championship teams, dominate defense, bad boy fame/overall notoriety.

Like him or not, Dennis Rodman is an American icon, and belongs in the NBA HOF. Period.

Mostly from his play in the European League. As a NBA player, we only saw a glimpse of the talent he had. I remember Bill Walton saying if he started playing

in the NBA while young, he would have been in the top 3 centers of all-time. Bill Walton was a very good passing center. Sabonis was fucking great!

Exactly Tom, the guy could play and that's what counts what he did on the basketball court not what he did outside basketball. That's why he was elected into the hall of fame. Yes Rodman is a legit hall of famer and no one "needs their head smashed in".

Then why isn't Pete Rose in the Hall. As a player he has the record for hits. He fucked up as a manager. And its been long enough don't you think? 22 years....

S2M I agree Rose should be in the hall years ago. But some of these writers can not distinquish the player from the manager.

There are players in the HoF that did drugs, beat up women, and cheated DURING games. Rose should definitely be in. It's completely hypocritical that he isn't.
