...at my house.

Bruins lost, so I'm immersing myself in those cheesy Golan/Globus, and Cannon Group movies of the early 80s...

Starting with this one:

Then moving on to this one:

well, I think you win on the cheesy parts. Got a pretty good lot of martial arts (and regular HK films here) that I need to watch that we picked up for dirt cheap with the Blockbuster stores closing. Just need to find time to watch them...

just wish they were easier to get around here. Too many released either with horrible dubbing, mutilated soundtrack, massacred with editing choices or all the above...and that's if they are lucky enough to be released here at all.

Saw someone on ebay selling supposedly anamorphic widescreen remastered HK prints that are region 0. Need to buy one and see if they are halfway decent. So much can't be found without paying an arm and a leg for it. Need to replace my poor quality vhs collection with some decent prints.

Saw this at my neighbor's house on their brand new VCR back in 1982.
Cool movie with Scott Glenn and the great Toshiro Mifune.

off the top of my head...

several of the Jackie Chan films.....Project A (1 & 2), Armour of God 1 & 2, Dragons Forever, Police Story 3 (uncut--ie not the Dragon Dynasty release), Drunken Master 2

Jet Li Bodyguard from Beijing (yea, not really martial arts, but I thought it was pretty decent and it's hard to find)

and cherry picking a few titles here and there....God of Gamblers, Peking Opera Blues, City on Fire, Wild Search, and probably a few others I can't remember offhand.

I know...I have most of the easy stuff that is available here :(

I was lucky in the past with a real HK video store nearby. Pretty much all bootleg and generally poor quality, but they had most anything you could dream up---as long as you had the Chinese title as there was precious little English in that place. Of course, it's gone now.

I must be "Old School", but I favor Akira Kurosawa's work. Yes to Toshiro Mifune and let us no forget Takeshi Kitano (Zatoichi).
