You and me both Matt! I was a little worried after hearing those two songs, but I hear a TON of promise in these clips! :D I cannot WAIT to throw the actual album in my rectum.

You're weird.

Now, now, don't be a puss   These are samples and you're only allowed to love them

Sounds promising to me too, but agree the samples are pretty crappy, horrible timing to some of them, like they didn't pay a bit of attention at all to a song and make the sample true to the song.

Well, maybe now management will let you put some better samples on MelodicRock of all the songs, since samples are out now.

I have asked....and added my annoyance!

Well, they should. It's good promo for the album. So a win-win.

Andrew, is Venus a instrumental or just a bad sample like Resonate with no vocals?

Last track is instrumental...as mentioned many times :)

Sounds great. Melodic, yet for the most part modern. Even just from these brief clips, you hear Cain's involvement prominently. I get a slight "Wildest Dream" vibe from "Ritual", otherwise, this all sounds fresh and new.

Actually, me and my brother were listening to that clip, and in the first two seconds looked at each other and said "Holy Shit, that sounds like it belongs on Arrival"

I am so thankful that there are clips to listen too, yet I am super pissed about that shitty Resonate clip. I really really wanted to hear a sample of studio version of that song, because just the you tube version (Thx again RipRokken) alone has me eagerly awaiting the new album... how many more days till this is out?!?!?! The wait is freaking killing me!!
I want a new tour bus filled with old guitars...

 I was merely referring to what I heard in the sample, which honestly did remind me of Winds of March.

Really? I thought that was a good clip.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great part of the song. But based on what we've heard from YouTube, it's certainly not the part of the song that I will be remembering the most.

Observations from the clips:

To Whom It May Concern's first 5 or so seconds sound like Winger! 8)

Venus sounds a bit like the jam session at the end of Stone In Love.

Everyone keeps focusing on Neal because he seems to be the most prominent musician on Eclipse, but I'm hearing some of Jon's finest work ever on here. He seems to have traded in some of the cheesy/trademark synth riffs licks for some tougher, edgier stuff.

The production on the clips sounds amazing and promises to be their best ever. I'm very impressed.

I like what I’m hearing…. most do not sound like the hard rocking Neal-fest descriptions we’ve heard, though evidently most all of them move in a harder direction in other sections of the songs. Cain is well represented in these clips and Arnel sounds incredible. She’s a Mystery is my favorite to this point, Neal’s sound is similar to the acousitc performances of Liberty.

Frontiers should have these pulled and submit their own samples for Amazon to use. Totally unprofessional.

These songs sound great and different for a Journey album. Acoustic guitar? Dang, haven't heard that forever.
Very cool. Can't wait!
I'm glad that the samples are random spots. It doesn't spoil the hook too early.

Only complaint I have is "State of Grace...."

I haven't heard Eclipse yet, but from what I have heard I have the feeling that Arnel going to be the bright spot on the album. I think his singing will make Journey into the Journey that they haven't been in 30 years! I know why I first fell in love with Journey's music and I have the inkling that they could be that again and more!

I guess I find out one month from Easter!

Usually Journey delivers an instant hook, these songs take some time obviously to "get it" which probably doesn't hold well for radio play. The only sample that imo had a decent instant hook was "Someone". Kudos for the boys trying something different, but it's going to be hard sell to the masses.

Most of the other samples don't include the hook/chorus. I think "Resonate" is very catchy. From what Andrew says, "Anything is Possible" is also an arena sing-a-long anthem.

I believe there is a flow to this entire album song to song and there are probably plenty of hooks that we don't get from the clips. "concept album"

It's like they made sure that they didn't put ANY of the hooks or choruses in the clips! :? I hope Drew can procure some better clips for us. Go get 'em, Drewsky! 8)

I knew I was picking up a "Remember Me" esque drum beat in "Edge of the Moment" Sounds awesome. Loving the production quality.

I think since Frontiers is listed that Frontiers supplied the clips.
