I've seen several requests from fans that Journey play their "Hits" particularly from South America. I'm hoping they start changing it up a bit when they get to Europe and the US tour.

It appears to be a concerted effort to play the five cuts from the new album and work the setlist around those songs, even though the album won't be available until after the tour is over (at least , the South American portion) :? I myself thought it looked like a good opportunity to give Revelation a second life in countries south of the border also. Seems like they are putting all their eggs in one basket when it comes to Eclipse though.

From everything I have researched though, with the exception of Brazil, most of those countries are better concert drawers than actual album buyers. Look at all the stadium shows that are on youtube for rock bands down there, simply amazing.

Maybe it will be different for Journey.

Here is a new set list that includes more new songs from Eclipse and more songs from Revelation. In 2014, Journey needs to release a new studio album and then after that in 2015 they can release a DVD/CD concert that has only songs from Revelation, Eclipse and the 2014 release. Then it will be all Arnel-Journey material. Sweet!

Rocking harder doesn't mean over powering your singer sonically. Looks like the sound issues the band had last tour have raised their ugly head again.
Coliseo de Puerto Rico is rated one of the top venues in the world as for acoustics are concerned. Fans are saying that Arnel's voice got drowned in the mix. Wth the reverb effects and other stuff they are using for some of the new songs, here's hoping they enlist a good sound engineer when the tour starts up again in a few months.

They dropped Human Feel, playing only three songs from Eclipse in a setlist of 18 tunes. Night Ranger played eight songs so maybe that's why Journey shortened theirs. This time around, Deen handled vocals on Who's Crying Now.

Journey's going to be touring with two other bands, their set-list probably won't go over 20 songs max per night. Three to five of those songs will be from Eclipse.

Make a set-list with 13 or 14 songs of pre-Eclipse material if you want this to be realistic.

I think its time to cut Ask the Lonely, Only the Young (like the songs but they've done them to death) and maybe LTS and Be Good to Yourself. Add a couple from Revelation back to the set list in addition to five or so new songs as they've been doing. I would have said cut Open Arms but I gained a new apprecation for it with Arnel's performance and the addition of a solo from Neal, I hope the solo is still there this tour.

Come on, they made sure to not even touch the money notes at the end when they did it on the last tour so what's the point?
As for Patiently, Deen kills it. That song is 100% in his wheel house.

Hey!! I just liked it because it was new and unique on the tour. I thought it was great how they put it together, granted they avoided the end but it still ended up cool!!great combo

I think they should at least try to mix in one more song from Revelation. I have no idea which song but after all the ballyhooing about how that was the album that brought Journey back to the masses, there should be a least a few original songs from it that survive the cut.

Include CFTB and WDILYL

I think a responsible musician/artist/band needs to keep the desires of the audience in mind, in addition to their own creative interests. With that in mind, an "ideal" set list would accomplish both goals. So this seems like a pretty solid list, one that consists of 11 of Journey's biggest hits, 5 of Eclipse's strongest tracks, a rocking, retro track from Revelation, and two 'deeper cuts' in 'Mother, Father' and 'Higher Place' (an acclaimed live Deen-vocal and the Augeri era's most popular song) to keep another aspect of their past alive and kicking.

The latter is true, but that album sucked. It was boring, uninspired and probably features, barring Generations, Journey's worst vocal work on an entire album. A busted voice that could only sing ballads ... in multiple takes. And that's why you never saw a tour or any performance after the album was released.

We agree on a lot, but we're destined to oppose one another 'til the end of time on TBF's glory, "Uncle" Dan.
'If He Should Break Your Heart' is, actually, my favorite Journey song bar none.

Now critique my damn setlist!
