I'm glad you posted this. It's pretty much a typical snapshot of that particular young demographic. Uneducated, impatient, ignorant, entitled and fascinated with chaos and crime. This is the exact reason I have always had a desire to live in a predominantly white, rural environment ... and now I am.

Thank god I live in a predominantly white part of town. Incidentally, outside of the occasional home break-in, there is no violent crime on this side of town. Imagine that.

Your point is valid, but I would say, judging by the video, that the majority of people didn't realize the magnitude of what was occurring/occurred and/or simply didn't care. And that's what we're talking about.

There may have been the bystander effect where everyone just stands around thinking someone else is going to help, but these people were going far beyond that: They were taking pleasure in the ghastly sight of people getting run over by a car like rag dolls. Disgusting and completely traceable to a certain culture's values (or lack thereof).

I just re-watched this and to me it's pretty hard to tell what's being said during the car incident. I don't hear any pleasure, more like WOW!! she just ran over them or something like that. I also see a lot of people standing around with a few actively helping the injured. I do hear laughing during the fight, kinda like you hear during any fight, black/white/male/female. How about that stupid piece of white trash down South that encouraged her daughter to fight and watched it?

My issue is just categorizing all the people that were there. You're certainly entitled to your opinion and feelings.

Then, after this deranged kook runs down people in the parking lot, I see people immediately come to the aid of the injured. There are at least two people on the ground checking on the injured. I spent 6 weeks in Cleveland and did walk after dark. The only problem was trying not to trip over the bums sleeping on the grates!! UGH!! But otherwise never a problem.

I have seen equally appalling behavior from white youths too. How soon we forget the girls who beat people up and video tape it so they can be famous on you tube. Those girls were white. What we are dealing with is a breakdown in society as far as empathy goes. We have more and more people looking out for #1 and acting like #2.

I can tell you I have seen my share of white trash that equals or excels the ugliness we just witnessed. We have desensitized our youth. Matt. Cleveland's not as dangerous as you think it is. I've been in every part of Cleveland on many occasions, including at night, and no one has ever hassled me at all in Cleveland.

Ironically, I've come closer to getting into fights in some of the nice suburbs of Cleveland, like Strongsville and Westlake.

I live currently live in rural america and I see bottom rung of society here too (mostly lazy welfare who won't get a job). I've walked in a convenience store in a suit and tie and these uneducated redneck look at me like I'm some kind of circus freak, like they've never saw a guy in suit before. I'm not claiming that Cleveland doesn't have it's share of crime. Every major city in America has at least one neighborhood that you prefer not to be in at night if you don't have to be. I'm just sick of people that have either never been to Cleveland, or have only been here briefly, making all kinds of bullshit claims about falling over bums on the street or fearing for their lives, when that's not even close to being true.
