Separate Ways, the new DSB?

Probably not.. but it has now reached #75 on Amazon UK's Rock mp3 downloads, and has also been making appearances on Mexico's iTunes rock chart.

I wonder if this is all from Tron Legacy hitting DVD?

It's a far better song, that's for sure. I hope it grows some legs and climbs the charts.

Did Tron really do that well to make a difference?

I love Separate Ways, but then I like Frontiers better than Escape!

$400 million world wide at the box office, DVD hasn't been out long enough to really develop a forecasting trend, especially as Blu-ray sales seem to be separate.

It's definitely one of the best non guitar intros ever for a 'rock' song.

That was such a great opening song last year. It really sets the mood for the concert.

Well, they opened with it here in Puerto Rico. It's an awesome song to open a concert.

That's Neal's ode to the great Steve Perry (band member #6).

I've always been a fan of The Party's Over for closing a show. Shame they don't play it very often.

Well, you can just forget about that, Mister.
U2, err I mean Journey's got some real world stuff they want to sing about this time around, really deeeep stuff, mystical even.. so you need to make sure your party's over or any of that other malarky right from the get go.

There might be a gem or two in this new stuff. We'll find out. I've been listening to some Revelation again in the last week, then going and listening to some Eclipse songs.
AP has made substantial improvements this year. Time for Journey to retrain their fans and keep hitting them with contemporary material. I have a feeling the rosary
bead crowd might fall out of formation though.

I remember on the 2001 tour they sometimes opened with 'Message of love'. Now that was a superb opener. Another tragically underrated song that they should play more often.
Hope 'Separate ways' continues to climb that chart.

Message of Love is a great song to open a concert! I agree very underrated song. Ask the Lonely is a high energy song that might work to open up concerts too.

I thought Perry's idea of opening with Only The Young was a great idea. It just has that "Welcome to our show" appeal to it. Perfect tempo for an opening number, too. Never Walk Away was also a great choice for the Revelation tour.

I still think that Majestic into Separate Ways, ala the 2009 leg of the Revelation Tour, makes for the perfect show opener. Especially after having two opening acts, Journey needs to prove from the start of their set that they are the headliner for a reason. Never Walk Away in 2008 was good, but too many people didn't know it and they lost a lot of the momentum from the house lights going down and people anticipating the show.

The Eclipse album equivalent of Never Walk Away would be great in slot two or three so somebody from the band can give it a little bit of an intro.

The band I saw open for FireHouse last week struggled through a version of "Separate Ways"...

I remember reading a review from one of the Hawaii shows and this guy said he walked out since he didn't recognize the first 5 songs they played. :? :? I believe they opened with Never Walk Away. I think they need to keep the strong opener and I love Majestic into Separate Ways. Definitely gets the crowd engaged from the start. Anyway, I'm betting the guy didn't really walk even if he was just there for the hits. I certainly wouldn't walk out on a concert at the beginning after paying today's ticket prices.
