Well, I may be playing in a band again soon!

Postby G.I.Jim » Mon May 09, 2011 10:54 am

I haven't been on a stage for about 3 years, but received a phone call today from an ad in Craigslist. There is a local guitarist/singer/songwriter who used to have a band called 88 rewind. They were THE most popular 80's band around here, and played for 4 or 5 years in all the clubs. They were an incredible band with an awesome following. They always drew great crowds.

He called me up today and it looks like he and I have a lot of the same influences and music Ideas. I just think it's awesome and had to share the news with you! I thought I was the only person here in Columbia that is interested in playing 80's. We're talking about doing the more "Pop" stuff, like Duran Duran, INXS, etc... I think there's a huge market for it, and can't wait to get together and jam. I guess we'll see how it goes, and I'll keep you posted. :D

Hey, congratulations, Jimbo... Now, remember, just because you're answering an ad on Craigslist doesn't give them permission to touch you in any manner you deem "inappropriate". Got it? Good.

You know what Tom, I post in here as I'm friends with several people in here. It's my way of communicating with them. Seems like every time I post something that's related to my music, you come in here with some kind of smart-ass comment. If you don't like me, just ignore my threads. Maybe 95% of you don't care to hear if I'm playing in another band. This thread was for the 5% that do. Hope you have a great day.
