"Carte Blanche" - Any Other James Bond Fans Here?

Postby VirgilTheart » Tue May 17, 2011 11:44 am

Figured this would be as good a place as any to post this.

Anywho, as some of you may know, there's a new Bond novel coming out soon (this month in the UK and next month in the USA): Carte Blanche by Jeffrey Deaver, author of The Bone Collector and Garden of Beasts. Since I was originally a fan of the book Bond and not the film Bond(s), I'm always excited to hear about the release of a new Bond book and considering it's being written by a fellow NC resident is just putting the cherry on the top.

That aside, here's some clips regarding the book, one being a silent trailer for the book.

Anyone else excited for this? :D

While I definitely think the Fleming books were the best Bond books, I have to say John Gardner's early novels were quite splendid. Even better than some of the lesser Fleming novels, but overall nothing in comparison to the classic novels.

That said, Jeffrey Deaver is apparently a well-respected writer and his Garden of Beasts won the CWA Ian Fleming Steel Dagger award a few years ago. Me thinks this one will actually be a pretty good book.
