Disagree away, but the courts are pretty clear on this one.

K-12 schools are different deals than colleges or jobs. You can quit a job or drop a university class. High school students can't just walk if they find teacher's behavior objectionable. Even if they are over 18.

Oh, I wasn't talking legally....I was talking morally/social status-wise....I agree the laws try and curb that stuff....I just don't think you can legislate that stuff.

Due to some crazy assed Texas laws, it is apparently a felony for a teacher to have sex
with a student, no matter what the age. I'll be she didn't even realize she was breaking
the law. Sure, she was unfaithful to her husband, but that's not a crime.

The law is the same in Nevada. A 22-year old first year teacher was sentenced to 5 years and the rest of his life as a sex offender for having sex with a 20-year girl who was finishing up her senior year at the Clark County School District's adult ed school. She missed more than a year recovering from a car accident. He was a middle school math teacher and did not even she was still in school.

He was brutally beaten in prison in his 3rd year and was released early because the prison felt they could not ensure his safety as a rapist.

This doesn't even make sense ...
If she had been 30 and a student at that school, would the punishment be the same?!?

I totally don't get how it's even considered "rape". She wasn't a minor -- they were only 2 years apart!

That and the fact that he's a middle school teacher at one school, she's a 20 yr old
adult in an ADULT ED class at another school ...WTF?!? Not only does
