Eclipse And Steve Perry

Postby Saint John » Sun May 22, 2011 12:48 pm

So, after I try 7 times in vain to procure Eclipse at the two local Walmarts, I enlist the Navy Seal of persuasion, Rip Rokken. He not only seals the deal over the phone, but has my 5 copies waiting at Customer Service. Talk about convenience! Anyway, I walk up to collect and pay for the goods and the cashier asks me if Steve Perry is with me! Apparently, some rumor ran through the store rather quickly after Rip called that someone was coming to pick up a couple of the new Journey CDs before the official release and that it only made sense that the person must be someone trying to hide their identity. We all laughed, I gave them a brief explanation of who I was and they indicated they would be buying the album. Seems as though the manager was the only one thinking Steve Perry was still in the band. I found the whole thing really funny!

You should have told them that you were Perry's domestic partner, now that woud have been hilarious.

 You should have put on a black wig, walked in there and belted out "Should've been gooooone!" (most don't know that's not a J song anyhow, lol) and grabbed your copies, signed some autographs...

I actually thought about telling them that he's dead, but my girlfriend is a huge fan of that creep and would have knocked the shit out of me for sure! And ME singing would have been more likely to make them think I was Steve Martin!

PS lol @ Don!

Hilarious!!! You should have milked the VIP rumor for all it was worth, told a few road stories, signed some autographs, etc. Now you are a Sam's Choice celebrity! :)

The only thing left to do is a tribute to the ending scene in Superman II where Clark returns to the diner to confront the trucker who beat him up earlier. Go flip off that cashier! Did you really use the F word with her?

I'm pretty sure Dan's twice Perry's height.

  Um ... no comment. Actually, I said it more to myself. Something like "I just got fucked again." Would never swear at a woman over her being an angry bitch and lazy employee. I'd never sleep.

LOL! What's up, Argus? How are you? We had the whole Hall of Justice going on in SL. Every once in a blue moon I log in, but everything has changed, nothing is in the same place, and I have a hard time finding old friends. But I'll always have great memories of hanging out in Journey Island, and playing Slingo with you, Les, & crew.

And of course... Bringing law to the lawless. :)

Take care!

What happened? Was there something specific, or did the novelty just wear thin?

If Rip does the same for me, Then I'll do it, record it, and upload it so everyone can hear all of the funny that will go down.
