But, I don't see them as being outstanding and deserving the over-hyped reviews that are being posted on here. There is a difference between a good song and a great and timeless song.
A timeless song touches your heart in some way so you don't forget it and means something more to you then just 'good music'. I think Jonathan explained it a long time ago when he basically talked about life experiences that he, and everybody else, may go through. They have not done this with Arnel as far as I have heard. It seems they just pick a subject and write about it. It's not personal any longer...it's a job. So, they may release a good album...but it won't be as timeless as Escape, or even Arrival really.
Stop bitching and buy the album already, Monker. Then report back.
Why bother...You know he not going to like it...He's decided that already...Along with a few other Perry "people" here.
You are too judgmental and completely ignorant of what you are talking about.
First of all, lumping me in with "perry people" is just laughable to me. I was one of the most hated people from that crowd from the mid 90's through sometime close to when Augeri was replaced. You totally missed the mark on that one.
Second, if you actually read my posts here, I said what I have heard from Eclipse is good, better then Revelation. I just think it is WAY over-hyped...just as Revelation was WAY over-hyped. So, why should ANYBODY take seriously the words of over-zealous fans who think the mediocre 80's retread music on Revelation is so good?
You know what TNC, there are Perry fans her that wish for Journey to fail, because their guy is not in the band. And if the band does achieve any success, they find an excuse as to why.
So what. They have been around since Augeri was first hired...and were MUCH more vocal back then. That doesn't mean that everybody who doesn't believe that Eclipse is the coming of the Escape album is a Perryhead. Get your head out of the clouds.
The more I read posts from this faction, the more I become glad Perry is long gone from the scene.
You should be glad he's gone. You should be glad because if he was still a part of the band, they would NEVER tour again, and record once every 10yrs or so...and when they did it would be nothing but standard pop music and ballads...with a lower, scratchier, hairball hacking voice that not even today's technology could cover up completely.
