Has anyone listened to the LP yet?

Yeah I'm talking about Vinyl.

I've just sent out my Fisher 400C receiver to a a friend who reconditions them, replaces capacitors, etc, and basically cleans them up.
Same with my Bose 901 speakers. This should have more to do with the cones and tweeters and less to with the cabinets, which are pristine.
I decided to buy a new turntable and preamp and am still shopping. I have an old Technics and can't find the preamp.

I'm gonna hear this as best as I can, as well as some of my old LPs.

I may be exposing my ignorance here, but what is the purpose of having 3 medium of the same album?

A CD for the car and a LP you can play in the right environment and put the other one on the record player when the first 6 songs are done.

Seriously, the Vinyl will bring out some nuances you will not hear on the CD, the proper equipment willing.

I disagree. If the album were recorded in an analog environment, then yes, you'll hear more from vinyl, but that's not the case anymore. It's a digital environment and all those 1's and 0's make it to the CD.

Yeah, I don't get the whole vinyl thing. You probably lose just as much as you gain on vinyl from all the crackling, hissing, popping, etc., as you do from any "nuances".

I'm gonna hear this as best as I can, as well as some of my old LPs.

i bought an alpine. that fixed my stereo problem.

but in 2011 i didn't expect a 6 mil man. now i just wanna rewrite logans run.

Vinyl isn't for everyone, but I find it to be the most rewarding way to listen to music. Bought a Technics SL-1200 about 4 years ago and haven't listened to a CD since. </deadformat>

That's called finding time to get really invested. It's too bad more people don't do this anymore. I do and I have great gear to hear it on.
Yet, people can go sit on a beach and read some boring novel. I don't get that!
