I only had 1 puncture bite, but it was right over a tendon. I'm really thin, and they were afraid the tooth had punctured the tendon. I thought it was a big nothing too, so I was amazed at how quickly they got me hooked up to the IV and poured antibiotics in me. They wanted me to stay so they could keep the IV going, but I wasn't having any part of that one. I was best friends with my doctor for several day because I had to have it checked on a daily basis. The poor kitty spent the night at the emergency vet because of the injuries from the noose, and then spent several more days at the regular vet. I wanted to hang that stupid son for what he did.

That looks very much like my oldest daughter if she gets woken up earlier than she wanted to be or if her sister borrowed something of hers without asking. Yup, very similar.

I am glad they did what they had to to help you. I have two puncture wounds, thankfully more in between the hand bones on the back. I think if you have a tendon or a joint injury it is much more serious. I just know I am feeling sick today. But thankfully tomorrow is my last day and it is boring meetings all day. I can excuse myself if I get sick.


I agree that kid was evil, kids who torture animals grow up to be serious mental cases in most respects. How old was that idiot? Too bad you couldn't sue him for damages.

Thanks! I am not that bad really. Right now I just feel blech. My had is getting better already. Can you believe Dixie curled up with me in bed last night like nothing ever happened. She was in protective stance like she does when I am sick. I am still trying to figure out how this cat knows when I am ill, but she does. She curls up next to me and won't leave me except to go to the litter box or eat.

Did you find your appetite lessen or did you get sick with your bite? I was sick to my stomach and had stomach pain before I started the medicine. I am not wanting food at all, but I take some with the meds.

I had no stomach problems at all, but remember, my bite didn't get infected like yours did. The biggest problem with the Augmentin is intestinal. Probably won't hit for a couple more days. Eat lots of yogurt to help restore the good bacteria to your system. I'm glad your hand is starting to look better. Just make sure you continue to watch it closely and get back to the doctor pronto if anything changes.

Same here, I stuck my hand in the middle of a cat fight once and one cat bit me right on the knuckle of my right hand. Really NOT SMART!! I had the doctor (quack) at work look at it and he gave me a tetanus shot and said to keep an eye on it. 5 hours later my hand was huge and they sent me to the ER. I spent 3 days in the hospital on IV antibiotics and completely lost the use of my right hand for a couple weeks. It took about 3 months before I regained 100% use of my hand. Cat, dog and even people bites should never be taken lightly. The virus in my system was moving so fast, I could have died.

Well I guess I am not out of the woods yet. The spot around my bite is swelling today and getting puffy. I have just started taking the antibiotics so I will keep a close watch on it. My last day of school was today. Yippie! So if I need to go to the doc now there is no problem.
