OT: Ex- JOON singer's new website...

Postby joonrock » Sun Jun 05, 2011 1:22 am

Hi Everyone,
I know this is off topic, but a number of the other threads are a little dead due to 'Eclipse' coming out.
I just wanted to let the people who are interested know that is my new website http://www.ollyjacob.com .
I quit JOON last November after a dodgey record deal offer that went sour when I wouldn't sign it (death trap according to lawyers). I won't name the label but they were very vocal to other otherwise interested labels about us not signing this contract, telling them to avoid us.
I had grown tired of the dead band scene in the UK, and decided to go alone as a singer/songwriter/ pianist, which current trends seem to have a gap in the market for.
It is a little different to the melodic rock sound, a little more radio friendly than the JOON stuff.
Please let me know what you think.

Dude,

seen you a couple of times when you were with Joon (once at a Journey convention, forget the other time), and to be honest i was not impressed.
Was a little sceptical about listening to your new stuff as i really did not like Joon, but hey the new stuff is not bad at all.
Good luck in your new venture, and if you are ever in or around the Birmingham area i shall pay to hear this new stuff from you.

Good luck man. :)

Liked Joon's set at the robin last year, supporting a Queen tribute. Was better than the Journey convention set. Good luck with the solo stuff

Thanks guys!
Really appreciate the response. Obviously I am glad you like it better than the JOON stuff, even though I wrote that stuff, this is really what I wanted to do all along. I don't really 'look' or 'act' like a rock singer so I think it is more natural.
Anyone that is interested please email me on olly@ollyjacob.com with your details and I will keep intouch about gig dates.
Thanks again, has given me a real boost.
