Zombies interrupt special olympics

Postby artist4perry » Fri Jun 10, 2011 5:59 pm

Boo to the Zombie protesters who interrupted the special Olympics. Seriously? You went to a place honoring the bravery of people with mental and physical handicaps and walked like zombies saying I want BRAINS? I don't think this was the proper avenue to get out your political gripe. But just a means to an end right?

My husband cares for folks like this for a living. He goes to special Olympics and has the most uplifting time of his life every year. What a bunch of creeps.

yea, brings up the question about how free should speech be. if this is disallowed, is that ok or does it open up the door to "more" that we will disallow because someone doesn't like it.

as a whole, i think we cater to the vast minority these days in a vast PC sweep that now has us afraid to notice a black person is black or we're racist. an extreme, sure. but these days the extreme are in charge and it's not looking good. and i don't mean just president, i mean in general.

iceburg, I am all for free speech but just because you have free speech you should have a brain filter that tells you when it is appropriate to use it. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. It is just as bad as the Westborough Babtist jerks protesting the funerals of soldiers. They can take their political agendas and cram it high and dry.

You don't know the half of what the liberal protesters have been doing at our State Capital the last few months. Occupation of the Capital for weeks, hundreds of thousands of dollars of damage they've caused, death threats, singing and banging on drums for hours on end so that people visiting on legitimate business are driven off, disrupting hearings so that they have to be carried out of the hearing room (just to get on TV of course), breaking into the state supreme court building to try and disrupt hearings. It's a f*****g circus! And why? Because we have a 3 billion dollar budget short fall that the Govenor & legistature are trying to fix without raising taxes, and the the teachers union has had the state in a stranglehold for years. Milwaukee teachers for example can retire with not one but 2 pensions that they don't contribute a penny for. Many school district contracts require that the teachers use the insurance company owned by the UNION!!!! It costs the school districts twice what normal insurance would cost. I don't begrudge anyone the right to protest. It's our right as Americans, but their rights should not infringe other the rights of others.

Lately, these protesters have gotten so radical, that even the Democrats and pro-union people are trying to disassociate themselves from them.
