Wow, that's sad. I hope he pulls out of it. He's a huge part of that band.

Obviously this has hit me extremely hard. This is worse than Journey losing Schon. There is no more if he doesn't return. That sax is the signature sound of the best band in the world.

This made me really sad. I really loved that last in depth interview he gave. I thought he said the last tour was his last because of his age, but maybe I'm misremembering. Class act. Very sad. I hope it's a stroke he can recover from and not like that famous R&B/pop singer, Luthor Vandross, who eventually died after lingering for many, many months, maybe even a year. I can't remember.

No, he said the last tour was "hell, real Hell." He said Bruce pushed him way too hard(without saying those words)...however, he also said he would play live with him til the "fucking day I die." They're brothers. I imagine Bruce is flying to Florida as I type this.

I just heard Gaga's Edge of Glory yesterday, and listened the whole way through for the first time. When it got to all the really good sax, I thought it was such a throw back to the 80's. I had no idea that was him. Hope he recovers.

All the band has been told to get to Florida as soon as possible.
The latest word is Clarence has had two brain surgeries but is responsive and in stable condition.

He's able to squeeze his left hand now, so that's better than nothing.

Sad, sad news. Loved his playing.

Kerry Livgren continues his recovery from a stroke here in Topeka. Sad, yet inspiring deal. Another great one facing a challenge. No idea if they have crossed paths, but being the type of person he is, I imagine he will contact Clarence as soon as he can.

Reportedly, the hospital has received calls from Paul McCartney, Bono, Mick Jagger, Muhammed Ali and Presidents Clinton and Obama. Clarence is larger than life.

Last I heard on Livgren, he had started playing a bit of piano but was still not able to play guitar. He sounded seemingly normal, though, from the interview I saw with him.

Playing a piano is a bit easier than playing a guitar...I would imagine playing the sax is easier than playing the guitar too. C has big assed finger pedals, because he is so huge.

Assuming C can remember the notes and the songs, and isn't too fucked up, maybe he can play the sax on stage again?

How hard is it to remember 4 notes mostly used in Springsteens songs? :P
(just pickin on YOU buddy )

As good as he is he could probably play it all if not by mouth and fingers, by blowing in the sax from other areas !
Best wishes to Mr C ! :)
