Like everyone has said the CD sounds good regardless if one likes the songs. I agreed but didn't realize how good it sounded until this morning, when my back speakers in my car kicked back in this morning. The CD sound incredible, better than I knew. My back speakers haven't work in years. Thanks Journey!

That's from a Sun Times article, and the media is NOT a reliable source. He may have moved there first and then moved to Franklin Park. Who knows. I know he went to high school in Franklin Park. He may have lived only in Schiller Park as well. Both towns were loaded with dagos back in the day. IF I ever get to meet him again, I'll ask him what town did he grow up in, right after he signs my Windy City Breakdown CD.

What the hell do the towns being 'loaded with dagos' have to do with anything?

Media schmedia, where you do think the media GOT that info - by interviewing him. It says that right in there, Tito Burrito.
That article was from a phone interview - being a Chicago boy, they called his pansy ballad-writing ass up when the Sox won in '05.

Wow. Def Leppard's sales (18,425) are almost exactly what Eclipse did at Walmart and they're currently at 17. If they were a true exclusive like Revelation, and I think the release was, they'll debut no higher than 17. People just aren't buying this music anymore and/or no one knows it's on sale. :? I figured DL would have Revelation type numbers because the package is a killer deal, they have their original singer and their is a DVD and GH on there. Again ... :?

Loons tend to operate on the lower end of the IQ spectrum, so I'm not surprised I have to offer a play-by-play:
(1.) Portland claimed she loved Arrival. (2.) I explained that a score of 2.5 (50%) doesn't seem to indicate love. (3.) She retreated, as Loons and their idol are known to do.

As someone who really likes some of these songs, the sonics on this record put it over the top for me. This record Sounds so good, it's the best sounding record i have period, to show off my stereo at home, or in my car. I know this sounds weird, but Even the songs i don't personally like, I still like to crank up occasionally to hear how good my stereo (Actually this record, cause my stereo doesn't sound this good with other records) sounds.

So, I'm one that can attest to not being crazy about some of the tunes, but definitely in awe of how this album sounds.

then you are an idiot, twice.

DL has no new songs on the radio.
DL has no story to tell to get people interested.
DL does not have someone who sounds like Steve Perry from 1981 that have people all curios.

Therefore, nobody really cares about their new album any more then anybody cares about Eclipse.

Wal-Mart's three exclusives, Journey-Def Leppard-Richard Marx (two of them 3-disc packages) have a combined 30 days sales total of about 65k. If we throw out itunes and Amazon sales for Journey and DL, maybe closer to 60k or even a tad below..
Meanwhile, Adele goes into her tenth week with over 100k in sales.
Wal-Mart can't keep pissing money away like this on older acts.
There was retail window for 80s rock about three years ago but that opportunity seems to have passed..

Walmart makes billions every single month, I doubt this is going to affect their bottom line much. But you're right, they have a smart business model and won't stick with losing products.

Have they removed Eclipse from the new release racks? At less than 8,000 sales for the week, that comes to two copies sold per store. Do they have it hidden in the J-section now behind Journey' Greatest Hits?

The next album could potentially be awsome and also be Cain's "told ya so" album. They'll get it right eventually....don't stop believin'

Cain's gonna take it all country/crossover. There might be gold in them thar hills. Asians did build this country's rail roads.

They also cleaned my room at the Holiday Inn. :D

Oh, and another thought, re: Madison Cain.
Who predicts that JC is gonna revamp a couple Journey songs for her debut album?
AATY would be my guess. Add a female voice and a bit of country twang and steel guitar.
Actually, the song might be awsome that way.

The next album.
Cain said they got to do Eclipse because of Revelation selling 800,000 copies. These are loss leader items, designed to attract shoppers into the store in the hopes that they'll buy enough other stuff to offset the low price of the CD.
If people aren't coming in to buy your product, that defeats the whole purpose.
I wouldn't expect another retailer financed CD from Journey for a long time, if ever again. Eclipse flopping along with Def Leppard's abysmal sales seem to be hammering the point home that these bargain priced Wal-Mart exclusives for 80s bands aren't necessarily the 'in' thing any more.

yup.. the in thing is to write great fucking songs, that people will actually want to listen to... like the new NR album has

For Journey's next "release"... I say JC, NS and Jack Blades get a 24 pack and some gear and bang out some great songs... Get Bazilian in there too... TBAA is a great song...

"Signs of Life"...................Schon, J. Cain, Elizabeth Cain 4:54
"All the Things" ................Schon, Cain, Andre Pessis 4:24
"Loved By You".................Cain, Tammy Hyler, Tribble 4:03

So mark them up and put them on proper music sales floors. The volume model isn't working anymore. Besides, Walmart is getting their asses sued off these days
because of the way they treat their staff and at the present rate, they will no longer be a discount outlet, if they even survive in the end. Fuck em, absolutely. Karma
is a bitch but they may have earned some by the way they built up and drove good mom and pop businesses away.

I really believe that Eclipse was the band's last hurrah at retail. The stars aligned for Revelation and amazingly, the momentum of DSB kept Journey's name out there continuously, even with the band out of service for a year.

And Eclipse flopped anyway.

I'm not really interested in another Revelation type album. If Eclipse is the last Journey record I buy, I can say it was definitely a good note to go out on. A much better swan song than Revelation.
