Deb,

I think you'll like this one. Bit Soto'ish vocals.

Good example, this is what I mean by thin vs. thick vocals. Actually that cover version is pretty damn good, more rocked up. But as for lead vocal.......IMO the vocal is weak, no power or texture and sounds like a 100 other hardrock singers, nothing unique about it. Where as I think E's vocals are thicker sounding, more full-bodied, like a great cup of coffee.

Nice, great passion.

Symphany X - vocals to harsh.

The lines "Feel my pain...my words are in vain" just grab me. Great feel to it. It's little tougher than most stuff around here though

Not sure. Thought that cover was pretty good. EM certainly has a distinctive voice.

Pop, rock, soul, doesn't matter. This guy could make the phonebook sound good.

Saw him in Japan during his prime. Better than Perry in my opinion (whom I saw in his prime also in 81, 82 and 83).

Paul Rodgers. Check out any Free or Bad Company or his side projects. On phone so no links, sorry. Has soul, range and power.

I remember the first time I heard this live by George, it brought me to tears. Love this version of the song. Such a beautiful song, but his vocals were just amazing and perfect.

But this song, Amazing, has always been my favorite of George. of his uptempo songs.

Yep, that's a given, love Paul Rodgers. Love this performance with Neal, Deen, and Todd, would have been a killer show to see live! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eK6ydCIHW2E

At about 4:04 you'll spot somebody in the crowd rockin' out, that counts Paul as a huge influence of his. Hint, he's one of my faves. 8)

Agreed, he's got it ...incredibly soulful voice!!
Love these rehearsal vids! Bowie, smoking his cigs and
letting Annie hit the notes!! He still brought it, though,
at the actual event!!

That was a total fluke. I was just thinking holy shit look at Deen's hair, and when they panned on the crowd I thought and that dude has hair just like EM, rewound a couple times and no wonder, cuz it IS a young EM. :o  LOL I'd seen the clip a few times before I even noticed. Love that song, that's the type of bluesy rock music I love, gotta love the 70s!
